"Ashley Young is likely to be spoken to by Premier League officials after he was booked for diving in Manchester United's win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, but former top referee Graham Poll has said he should be slapped with a five-match ban. So..... Graham Poll should be slapped? I agree with this but i dont under stand what relevance it has to the price of fish.
my idea was the old "one ****s up and you all suffer" trick. for every yellow given for simulation or retrospective yellow given by a panel the following would happen. half of weeks wages docked, instant 3match ban for the player, doubling for every yellow(simulation ) earned in the same season ie... 2nd incident =6game ban, 3rd in a season 12games etc for every simulation incident all playing staff, manager and coaching staff docked 10% of wages to be put back into some kind of grass roots fund thing. club fine of £100,000, doubling for every incident. but that **** will never happen and probably wouldn't work as well in reality as it does in my head.
To be fair to young, he did manage to fool the refs last year. They are watching him for it this year though, 1 booking and counting. Matth blabs on about Suarez when Young has already got booked and embarrassed himself and his club and even Moyes has had to have words with him. Now matth has gone off to a greenhouse with a handful of stones
Is diving worse than intentionally fouling someone to stop a counter attack? Because according to the media they're 'good fouls' to make....
it depends if this someone is South American, possibly Uruguayan. Remember, embarrassing stupid childish nibble = Evil, evil enough for Cameron to speak out. Smashing someone in the face with an elbow = Good English football not worth mentioning. Crunching someone's knee in a totally reckless challenge keeping the player out for weeks at least = OK cos the ref seen it but didn't actually see it. Getting booked 5 times for diving = OK cos the player was diving out of the way to save himself. hmm, a pattern emerges. Lets not forget, RvP, great player but he can be as nasty as anyone. Not hounded by the media ever! A Good solid white European.
