Aye up to the Leeds massiiiivvvvvvve... (and the Wall Express)

I'm quite looking forward to the Sunday kick off. I'm gonna have a nice fry up, have a few beers, sit back and watch 3-0 Leeds win. Jobsagooden (as Marc and Lard would have said, remember them on radio 1?)

Who remembers Mike Grella? He has just signed for Danish Superliga side Viborg FF!!!

Quite a few of our ex players are now playing abroad actually!!!

Andy O'Brien is now playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps. What the *** happened to O'Brien when he was at Leeds. He went from being a good player to an awful player, who couldn't run!!! Then he had his supposed breakdown. I'm sure something strange went on between him and Grayson!!!

What about Rui Marques? At the time he left (back in 2010), he was our longest serving player. He played one loan game for Hull after that, never to be heard of again? <yikes>

Today we want to hear about ex players, and what they are doing now???

    They love O'brien in Vancouver.

Darren O'dea was playing in the same league and the wages are published. O'brien was on a 3rd of what O'dea was

    Morning all,

Just read a tweet that Norris says in the Daily Star that he wants to go out on loan. Lets hope he gets his wish quickly, and then becomes our next ex-player.

Tbh, I don't think Norris is that bad, but he's out of favour & we could make good use of his wages. No time for sentiment these days. Too skint!

Mike Grella was supposed to be the most gifted and skilfull player we had at ER, and all the players at the time said so. Yet he only looked "ok" when we gave him a game. He scored a few and was sent out on loan a lot, and then went backwards?

AOB turned out to be a coont and even though Grayson handled the affair badly, it still upset the camp and cost us a lot of points that season.

too many players have come in, picked up wages and moved out over the last 3-seasons. Not good enough for a club trying to stabalise itself and make it a real contender. Yes Bates was the root cause, but until we have enough cash to offer decent wages for top championship/rising stars, then we're nowhere, and will always have a policy of open doors.

doc could also say too many managers have too, that in itself makes the player turn over high.

as frustrated as we are atm we need to stick with mcdermott and let him build his own team

Agreed we need to stick with him but a carpenters only as good as the tools he has available. Problem is he's built nothing basically since he's arrived and without PROPER backing, he wont't be either. It's all talk about Burkes and Rowes and so on coming to us while nothing worth talking about ever comes. I dont see McD around even two years from now for one reason or another

Eire the one thing he has brought, is a huge step change at TA as he has put more emphasis on the kids and how they're coached and what he expects from their development. I think we are already seeing some shoots from Redfearns babies and hope it continues. BMD obviously knows that he will never have millions to spend, so has concentrated on his kids as they should save us millions in the future. The problems we have right now though are with the present squad who need additions. We need to offload before we can add and its tough out there.

12th to 15th is all we can hope for this season and if BMD is still around at the end of the season he will be able to offload plenty out of contract players, which means a stronger team next season. However good we may be next year, we will have even more teams with parachute payments and good squads to contend with. So with the present ownership and lack of cash for team investment, I see a bleak future carrying on.

Afternoon all. Like yourself Elland, I'm looking forward to the Sunday kick off. Plenty of beer, to make it easier to watch the game. Odds on that Burke scores. Both teams to score and we lose 2.1..........<wah>

Just been reading about what the brum players think of Burke, and seems everyone reckons they are relegation fodder if it were not for him. FFS i bet he's looking to show us how good he can be on Sunday and hope our defence is up to stopping him.

In a weird way, I'm hoping he has a blinder. It may just reinforce to our owners what the benefit of spending the 600k would be. So Im hoping for a 4-3 win for Leeds with Burke scoring all three for Brum

You see that's where it all gets a bit hazy. McDermott came out and said he didn't think Burke was worth spending £600k on now when he could be signed for free when his contract runs out at the end of the season, which either means he had the money but didn't want to waste it (it's GFH's money, why should he worry?) or the money wasn't there and he's deflecting the flak from GFH (again, why would he do that at the expense of what now appears a bad judgement call by him?)
    All very strange.

Whichever is the real reason, the fact is hes having a great season for Brum when he could have been doing same for us due to someones short sightedness

Add on that hes OOC at the end of the season and because hes had such a good year his wage demands will go up, especially if theres a few clubs interested.
Makes a £600,000 invest now quite reasonable.

I am on the ale, but I just got 6 tinnies. I tried to get to Sun without drinking but I caved in when my young lad said he was getting beer for Sat/sun. But I've been getting the daily walks in and I'm 3 stone lighter than a yr ago, still a way to go. What you doing tonight bud?
