Do both angles the smaller angle is to stretch the lower calf that is where the ligament attaches and runs down to your heel.

Took me ages to get over not playing so don't be too cocky as it's more likely to be something silly like this than the mother of all tackles went out on a high situation. <cheers>

I came through my football playing days relatively unscathed and then completely ripped all the muscles in my right calf playing badminton.
Didn't do my knees a whole lot of good either.

Im just taking it day by day really

They said I could play again in a year, well we're 4 and a half months in and it seems (which it is) a long way from playing. I have to be careful as where the bone meets the metal are now weak points, so coupled with my bone tumour I will have 3 weak points below my left knee!

How long ago did you stop playing?

6. Not being cocky. Its more a "the NHS is a waste of time unless you've broke/snapped something" approach.

I had to stop playing 11 a side when I was 28 after continuous cartilage problems in my left knee, I mucked about playing 7's for a while but always had injuries with that same leg. I seemed to get better and started playing 5's and then I tore the ligament in my foot that I mentioned (same leg) and stopped completely when I was 35.

Lucky for me my lad is really good and watching and coaching him gave me a focus.

8. I have the weak points in my arm <ok>

Ifelt like playing again was a million miles away too when I snapped the tendons in my ankle. Took me about five years to recover properly (well, as much as it as anyway) but that was my fault; I was told to rest it for 3-4 months but returned to playing after 6wks.

I was running backwards to take a shot and the whole muscle sheet went. The crack was audible to the other players and I felt like I'd run into something. For a second I wondered who'd put something on the court.
I'd done warm-ups beforehand and was actually on the fourth game so no idea what caused it.
It was a mad night. It was a cold December, someone gave me a lift home because I could hardly stand. My girlfriend at the time had gone out, although she'd said she wasn't going to. She'd locked up and I didn't have a key so I had to sit in the porch in sub-zero temperatures for an hour and a half wearing only my whites and a track suit top.
I can laugh about it now.
Almost.

I couldn't walk on it for about six weeks and couldn't play again for nine months. Even then it always felt like it might go again so that really took the edge off my game. I gave it up for good about 5 years ago. :(

12. Just had a mega mixed grill and paid extra for a larger steak. Then had a chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ice-cream for pudding. All washed down with a pint of Fosters

Which led me onto reading about Winston Bogarde <laugh>

Bogarde signed for Chelsea in 2000–01, after following the advice of compatriot Mario Melchiot to join him at the Premier League club.[3] He was signed when Gianluca Vialli was manager, although the latter had no idea the transfer was happening, it arguably being conducted by director of football Colin Hutchinson –[4]Emerson Thome, also a centre-back, was shipped off to Sunderland.[5] Only weeks after signing his contract with the club, newly appointed manager Claudio Ranieri wanted the player to leave.[6]

According to Bogarde, it would be next to impossible to find a team that would offer him a contract comparable to the one he had at Chelsea: he was astounded at the salary the club had agreed on, as his value depreciated severely due to lack of first-team action, and decided to stay at Chelsea honouring his contract to the letter and appearing to training every day, but only played for the team very sparingly.[7] Of his contract he said, "Why should I throw fifteen million Euro away when it is already mine? At the moment I signed it was in fact my money, my contract." In the end, he only appeared eleven times during his four-year contract, reportedly earning £40,000 a week during this period.

After playing as a substitute against Ipswich Town on Boxing Day in 2000,[8] Bogarde only made one more appearance for Chelsea's first team before his contract expired in July 2004; it was also made from the bench, against Gillingham for the season's League Cup on 6 November 2002.[9]

During his period at Chelsea, the club attempted to sell Bogarde due to his large salary, and demoted him to the reserve and youth teams in an effort to force the player to leave. In response to press criticism on the issue Bogarde said 'This world is about money, so when you are offered those millions you take them. Few people will ever earn so many. I am one of the few fortunates who do. I may be one of the worst buys in the history of the Premiership but I don't care.'[10]

On 8 November 2005 Bogarde announced his retirement from professional football, having failed to reach an agreement with a club since leaving Chelsea

I imagine the arsewipe photos are just a stunt, but extremely tasteless given how working class people struggle to afford getting to games to make these stupid turds stupidly rich.
