A little surprised to see this. There are ways around it, but notifying the home team of ID details of every travelling fan?...forget it.

Also a block ban on alcohol in stadia, too. Ironically, this happened the same week that English top flight clubs were all apparently given a £200k grant so they could reduce admission prices for away fans.

Disappointing for world football - let's hope it's not an omen of a return to the dark days of the 70s and 80s.

What's all this I hear about us turning down an agreement with Newcastle on reducing ticket prices for away fans?

Someone explain it to me, please.

On the face of it, it sounds bad.

However, Norwich were being asked to reduce prices to £20 from c.£45 in exchange for Newcastle reducing prices to £20 from c.£26.

Given that our revenues are much lower, that doesn't make much sense. Given that our tickets are in much higher demand, that makes even less sense, and given that it would have meant that Norwich would ahve been obliged to offer home supporters the same prices (and presumably rebates to season ticket holders), it would have been extremely expensive.

This is just a Newcastle United owners' PR exercise - if they were so fussed about fans they would offer the deductions themselves and subsidise travel (as I believe Norwich do).
