Oh dear, Race For Sport & Kick It Out want the FA to provide mandatory "race apprectiation" training and "cultural capital and cultural intelligence" training to all managers.

Think these wallies are taking it too far.

Kick It Out took it 'too far' years ago. Nobody takes them seriously anymore.

Fez: replying to posts further up the thread without quoting them (or mentioning their username) makes it very confusing for everyone - how are we to know which post you're replying to?

Anyway, back to the topic in hand: I actually do believe Kick It Out has a purpose and does some good work. The problem is it's undermined by a few publicity-hungry egotists who have lost sight of the original aim of equality and now go hunting for prejudice where there is none.

I'm thinking specifically here of Piara Powar (I can only hope they the rest of the KIO hierarchy is fuming about his daft comments) and of Peter Herbert of Race For Sport (see here: http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport...ciation-course-after-monkey-in-spa.1382095521)

Strangely it has fallen to the dogging, woman-beating sage himself, Lord Stanley of Collymore, to get it exactly right in 140 characters or less...

“Demeans every anti-racism campaigner by having cheap pop at RH who said nothing wrong. Makes campaigners seem over-PC and petty. They’re not.”

You didn't need to fix it for me - not unless you are a wannabe Jimmy Savile.

There's more to racism and bigotry than being a millionaire. If, by these people, you mean KIO, then no, I don't feel that they are calling me a racist, just as I don't believe they are calling you a racist. I do believe they offer a well informed conduit, through which people are able to express their concerns and this can be done at any level - is that really such a bad thing. They offer advice and guidance right down to grass roots about how best to integrate into sport in this country and how best to enable themselves for advancement. They work with clubs and players (Google the numerous glowing testimonials) to enable them to work towards equality - that is a frequent word in their communications and it seems to me that it includes one and all, regardless of colour, race, gender/sexual orientation, religion and disability; again, let me ask you about Kick It Out - do you still believe that they are 'Kick it out and associated groups are self serving ****s desperate to stay on the gravy train'. They may not be perfect and there is still a lot of work to be done to pull together that should have been done properly years ago, but I think it is far more grown up than your approach.

I don't have an agenda, you made a comment designed to draw a reply and you got one, so stop whinging and argue your case properly. :emoticon-0118-yawn:

Sorry, I see what you mean - it was a response to Suitedandbooted - I am not nor do I think I am a professional football manager. It was a daft question and got the briefest answer possible.

I agree with the rest of your post, as I think it is wrong to lump them all together as DMD has done.

    FT again FY.

Some people buy the spin, that's their choice. I think it was Clark Carlisle that interviewed footballers about this. Despite being one of the main people players would go to with such issues, he wasn't aware of an issue of discrimination.

If they want to make a difference, rather than calling you a racist, kick it out should look for an industry that's got a problem, rather than one that's got money and profile.

Fact is football is zero level racist

Whatever your background, culture, religion if yo7 have the talent and dedication to play, you will

And I believe schemes like football in the community run by pro clubs in their area does more to broaden horizons across communities than kio have ever done

Football brings different communities together more than any other industry in the world
Seeing england fans party with ghanians in london the other year was a brilliant sight

Fans being racist in the uk is an incredibly small minority

Countries like italy and eastern European countries the racial factors are a social problem and nothing to do with football,

Im sick of this politically correct bull**** these days

**** the sun and their bull****, before the 2010 world cup the papers constantly hounded engkand team regarding john terrys affair and.now less than 24 hours of their qualification to 2014 wc, a pathetic jibe that the manager is racist

What next? A racist for commenting about prefering blue jeans to black jeans?

(I would have said white jeans, but no ****er should ever wear those monstrosites ever)

    I wrote something similar.

No doubt the identity of the England player/ backroom staff member, who tipped the papers off will be revealed.

Right, Ive got a new twist on this story..... Some of you have mercilessly mocked me about contacts before so if you don't believe me then fair enough but this is from a journo who directly worked on this story:

He is adamant - and I mean adamant - that the unnamed player who told him of the half-time teamtalk has said the alleged joke was never told. Make of that what you will.

Considering Townsend himself has come out and said that he took no offense from it, and Hodgson as also not denied saying it, I think your journo mate is talking bullshit.

Why have you felt the need to quote that? I think everyone who has read about this knows Townsend tweeted in support. And I don't think he is talking bullshit at all, more the player who leaked it is talking bullshit and that's my point. Someone is potentially really trying to rock the boat.

But if the alleged joke was never told, why is nobody denying it was said in the first place?

Surely if that were true, Townsend would've come out and said "Roy never said anything of the sort" and it would have ended there.

That's not the point at all. Im not saying the joke wasn't told....Jesus Christ, do I have to draw a diagram....?

I fully expect that the joke was told, however the player who leaked it is saying something different to a prominent journalist to make it into a racism issue and that for me is the biggest story regarding this. Someone is desperately trying to ruin Roy from within via the media and that is very, very interesting.
