Kick it out and associated groups are self serving ****s desperate to stay on the gravy train. It's been shown time and again they're not needed in football, especially when compared to other Countries, sports and industries (football's just where the money is) and are actually themselves offensive. With their existence, they call each and every one of us a name that they rank near to *****phile in the modern "I'm offended" bullllshit bingo.
I tell you what interests me that nobody has commented on - is this the kind of thing that happens during international football match half-time team talks? I didnt expect for ome minute the boss would be cracking gags left right and centre. Is this the norm?!
Spot on Racism in football would be black players not being allowed to sign for certain clubs or white youth team players getting pro contracts over black players. Instead football is probably the single biggest industry in this country with as many ethnically diverse millionaires. Black people are even over represented in football (something like 12% of the population are black but 25% of footballers are black), I doubt that's the same in finance or politics. The isolated incidents of 'racist' chanting are people bringing their ill-informed opinions into football stadiums, that doesn't make it footballs problem, it is a social problem that won't be solved by a self-gratifying panel of over paid mugs desperately calling racism at every opportunity in an effort to keep hold of their jobs.
apparently, it wasn't one of the players that told the southern press. Their un-ashameable witch-hunt for the England manager, that clearly isn't the Lahndaners favourite, is embarrassing.
I wouldnt be surprised if somehow the leak came via the 'loveable, cheekie and not bitter about missing out at all" 'Arry.
nah it came from Arry's fellow Lahndaner.................. Stuart Pierce/Pearce/Pearse however the **** its spelled. he should never be allowed near the dressing room again - taking the spotlight from England's achievement and turning it into this furory? he should hang his head in shame. ****er!
I remember during the Euros that there was a thing about Roy telling a fable about a frog and a scorpion to the squad. Seems he likes story time. Anyway, the monkey thing is daft.
I didn't mean that. I just thought it was a little unusual he likes telling little stories to footballers. I reckon metaphors will go above a lot of heads. The monkey one did! The article about the frog fable stated "The players were too busy laughing to fully digest what Hodgson was trying to say", which is my point.
Do you not think that is a tad simplistic? Are you just discussing PL football or football back to grassroots; which is what KIO is all about.
Although he has been misrepresented in his intent, I do believe he might have thought better of his particular joke, considering the history of the monkey analogy as a racist insult; but in itself it is quite harmless.
That's the whole point - the fact that the potential connection DIDN'T occur to him marks him out as the most innocent, non-racist person out there!
If they want equality, then by their own reckoning, we'd have to reduce the number of black people playing and encourage more Chinese and Eskimo's. They're just opportunists latching onto the whole weak argument. We should all be offended with what they accuse us of.
The version i know is; They fire a woman and the 2 monkey's into space. âThe intercom crackles, 'Monkey 1, fire the retros.' âA little later, 'Monkey 2, check the solid fuel supply.' âLater still, âMonkey1, check the life support systems .' âLater on, "Woman...." âYes i know", she says, "feed the monkey's and don't touch any of the buttons".
This is a remarkably opinionated, ill-informed and offensive post. Ignoring your harsh terms, which I know you use against anyone who holds a different point of view to you, where do you get the evidence to justify the highlighted statement? For anyone who is not too aware of what KIO are all about then you should try reading their web-site, which shows that they are proactive, not only in racism, but in sexism and homophobia. http://www.kickitout.org/ They are a small team (employees - they do enjoy reasonable voluntary support from all walks of life), the campaign is supported and funded by the game's governing bodies, including founding body the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), the Premier League and the Football Association; that funding is considered to be a relatively small sum of money for what they are trying to achieve. Perhaps this testimonial, from a professional body that is very aware of what is needed in football, might bear testimony to just how misleading your rant is: http://www.thepfa.com/thepfa/proudassociated/K/kio This is a year old, but it gives you a good, independent assessment of what they are, what they are paid and what they do (They operate on a budget of less than £300,000 per year which pays for five staff and all their activities - it's astonishing that this is far less than a certain footballer was fined for racial infringements) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2220435/Is-Kick-It-Out-campaign-working.html I don't want to labour this, but I do believe it needs a full and rigorous response, but I will finish with this last link which was a Jason Roberts interview about his reasons for not wearing the KIO T-Shirt and what said was that the PFA (and other bodies were not doing enough, although he did qualify with this comment: 'Kick It Out has done some substantial things, but as an organisation it is not seriously funded, and it should be.' The full article is here. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2222148/Jason-Roberts-didnt-wear-Kick-It-Out-T-shirt.html I'm not looking for an argument, but I am looking for balance and a reasoned opinion, rather than an outburst of bile that I would expect from a bigot - and I don't believe you are one, are you, Dutch? I don't think that is an unreasonable expectation from a forum member who so thoroughly advocates campaigning and so readily insults those who don't necessarily hold 100% the same view of to address issues.
I entirely agree with you in every respect, but as a professional football manager and communicator who has witnessed the furore that has surrounded football in recent times - all centred around the monkey insult - I am sure he is quietly reflecting that he could maybe of avoided making himself the target of fools. He probably also totally trusted the integrity and trust he had with the guys in the dressing room - but complaint or not, someone chose to make it public and it would be a healthy thing to know who that someone was and why they did it. If you've played football you would know that what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. Someone is stirring the ****, wouldn't you like to know who it is?
FTFY Ill informed? So in your world, football doesn't produce a good proportion of black millionaires and it's not a meritocracy then? No other Countries, industries or sports have race problems (however you choose to define it). There isn't a disproportionate number of black people plying their trade in football in comparison to UK demographics? If partity is sought, show me how that wouldn't mean a reduction in the number of black players. Being described as a racist is now viewed as a major slur, it costs people jobs and careers, but these people are calling YOU and everyone in football racist, or at best someone that tolerates racists. If you're going to be offended, aim your sights better. I'm quite happy for people to have opinions that differ from mine, that's what these boards are for. I (and others) do got bored with people with agendas though.
