Our match against Sunderland has been rescheduled to the following week (7.45, Wednesday 6 Nov) under police advice because of other matches involving Newcastle and Sunderland. Pity no one thought of that before.
Well, they are not the brightest that far up north. Although to be fair to a Sunderland fan I know, he pointed out the fixture clash within minutes of the draw taking place.
What fixture clash? Aren't they playing eachother on the sunday before? Or you mean Newcastle are playing on the same night and they expect trouble?
I guess Saints could make a nice gesture to the Saints fans who have already bought tickets and made travel plans by laying on free coach travel. They could do that. It would be nice. To appreciate the effort the fans make. When being mucked around. They could do that very simply and it wouldn't cost the club very much at all and would get them a lot of good press & karma. They could do that. They won't, will they.
They take mickey out of us by putting OUR game (SAFC vs Soton) back 8 days but we got through BEFORE Newcastle to the 4th round, it only adds more fuel to our derby game on the 27th against them, SKY could have shown the derby on the Saturday afternoon, but the police up here always want early derby kick offs. We have to suit other peoples needs, and your supporters must be livid if they booked a train.
Northumbria police definitely took their time thinking about this one. Still waiting for my cheap student tickets btw Nicola.
Well if you are a student, then you'll have a good chance of getting some. Students are the lifeblood of the club.
It was to do with the problems of policing both Sunderland and Newcastle games...the same way the Hampshire police don't want both Pompey and Saints home at the same time. The unbelievable thing is that this wasn't realised immediately and dealt with before any plans could be made.
And we SAFC, would have had only two days off before the cup game, we could have played on the thurs night and put the league game back, but that was too easy.
