Yeah we need another striker now defo. We've been linked with Conor Wickham hopefully that can come off I think he would be ideal for us as a young player who would be happy to sit on the bench and wait for his chance.
Yet more young English talent... The future could look good for the International team with them all playing and training together on long term basis

Hi guys im a wigan fan and a neutral in this thing he has played 70 times for sunderland and is 21 i dont know what your 21 year olds stats compare but that isnt bad he has scored 5 goals from right wing and was the second highest in creating goal scoring chances last season. He has played a load of games for under 21s and 1 game for england at 21 thats not bad he is also about to go to the under 21s as vice captin i belive Remember you are paying for the player now and the potentiol and the sunderland fans and the england under 21 staff belive that he will be a world beater remember that now the 20 million in 5 years i think he could easily double that thanks
Good points. The way I like to look at it is yes, we are paying alot of money, but, remember, we aren't planning on selling them later on really, King Kenny knows the english players are likely to stick around for the long run. Also, Henderson and Carroll had 5 years remaining on their respective contracts, you'd expect a inflated price if someone has just signed a long term deal.

Sunderland have tabled a bid for Manchester United trio, Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Danny Gibson, believed to be worth around £12m according to Sky Sports News. Maybe the £12m they recieved from the Henderson deal?? So, 12m + N'gog, not bad.

Isn't it weird how if you think about it, Abrahimovich's £50m for Fernando Torres, was spent on Andy Carroll for £35m, and Henderson for £12m, then on John O'Shea, Wes Brown and Danny Gibson, eventually meaning some of it would end up in Manchester?
