Nathan Ellington did not sign for Crewe ,would he have been just the ticket to solve our striking problems? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24570602 Has Ward and the board missed out View attachment 26982 on a pedigree striker who may have been the answer to help our younger strikers at 32 he is defo not to old and although he has not scored for a while at L2 level surely he would have! What do you think has the manager and board missed a golden opportunity or is it right to keep loading the bases with youngsters? assume we could have afforded to take him if Southport have stumped up some money? We keep going for the cheap and cheerful untried and untested players and wonder why they sometimes struggle at this level. COR
we dont have the funds is my guess. we needed a defender and a winger and a striker. my guess is that the dukes wages would have meant we wouldnt be able to get the defender and winger. i would have been happy if he joined us but im not that fussed that he hasnt. he hasnt played much in recent seasons and i heard from someone who supports ipswich that he was very lazy and his attitude stunk. we cant afford that type here. but he may have been better for us as he was a fans favourite. its a difficult one for me.
Southport my god his career has really gone down the pan how the hell does a team like Southport afford his wages got to be on at least 10k
on twentyman show tonight, ward was on taking calls and answering questions. 1 person asked about ellington. ward said the duke wasnt on his radar and never entered his mind to consider him.
