Chris Wood and Gary Taylor-Fletcher are both fit and available after the international break. Andy King, Sean St. Ledger, Marcin Wasilewski, Wes Morgan and Kasper Schmeichel are returned from international duty unscathed. So here as what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Moore Morgan Konchesky Dyer King Drinkwater Knockaert Nugent Vardy Subs- Logan, Wasilewski, James, Hammond, Schlupp, Wood, Taylor-Fletcher
I think Proud's team is likely to start ... personally I'd like to see it shaken up a bit so I'm going for a new formation Schmeichel (no corners please Udders) Wasilewski Morgan Moore Bakaypgo (LWB) De Laet (RWB) Drinkwater Knockaert Dyer Schlupp Vardy (Kingy gets a rest, Nige and Konch get benched) ... has no chance of happening but would love to see it.
That team would get destroyed No balance in the middle of the park. What has Schlupp done to warrant a start up front? What has Nugent done wrong to be dropped? Bakoyogo has looked poor so far so why start him ahead of Konchesky or Schlupp?
Now now ... calmly descend, avoiding getting your tootsies caugt in the nasty wheels, then go and collect those toys please young man... Not sure why you think that team would get destroyed against Huddersfield, but each to his own ... not much confidence in two international centre-backs in front of an international keeper then? Knockaert right, Dyer left and Drinkwater centre is unbalanced? - quick, someone tell Nigel because he seems to keep playing them there ... What has Schlupp done to warrant a start up front? - apart from having a pretty good ratio of goals to starts up front for us whenever he's had the chance - he scored a double in his last competitive game (albeit for the development side) neither of which was from the penalty spot - something nobody has done in the first team yet this season. Nuge had a particularly poor game against Donny by contrast. Bakkayogo needs to be given a proper chance and I've opted for a wing back approach with tremendous pace down the flanks ... Konch is not that quick any more - he didn't do much wrong against Donny but I don't see him as effective as a wing back, so its down to the formation not the individual... why in front of Schlupp ..... errrrrr.... because unless Jeff's got an identical twin he can't play in two positions, and he's already included as a forward. As I said - not going to happen but I'd like to see it as I think we'd play very attractive and quick football with such a formation.
Schmeichel Moore - Morgan - Wasilewski - Konchesky Drinkwater - King - James Knockaert - Nugent - Vardy Unlikely formation I know, but I'd like to see a Morgan-Wasilewski partnership developed, on paper it looks fairly formidable. This is probably a bit harsh on De Laet, and Moore potentially, but I think of the two that the young lad's coming out on top. Does anyone else think De Laet at right wing could be an idea? We don't really have anyone else to cover this position, and he's got the pace and delivery. I'd also like to see Schlupp developed as a left winger; this would give us Knockaert/De Laet on the right and Dyer/Schlupp on the left.
Think the defence looks solid - but playing all 3 of DD, King and James has done nothing but left us sterile this season and I think Pearson has now concluded that it's two from the three - and given the lack of creativity we had against Leed for example, I'd tend to agree with him.
Me personally I think the reason for our lack of creativity when these 3 played was the fact that neither Dyer or Knockaert was starting
