So he wants to play for a country he can't play for, for 5 years at least. he never said he want to play for England. and lastly, you are creating a thread and believe the content because of a fail article, yet you slate the fail when they report something negative on United or United related stuff Such a funny guy Matth, long may you post threads
He's been called up at youth levels, but turned them down to focus in his club career. There was a rumor Belgium called him up for this international break, I imagine to get him tied, but he turned that down. I doubt it's true though.
It was a typo and meant to say BIG player for United but, yeah, he could well yet turn out to be a bit player for us!! Who knows eh? Way too early for all this ****.
Most people with half a brain making comparisons to Macheda are making comparisons to the situation which occurs after they play 1 good game, Ruff, 1 was a good finish, nothing more, the other a tap in literally, lets not see things that were not there. He seems like a talented lad, good luck to him.
He may or may not a United great. I can't see how people can judge on the basis of two goals in one match...He is clearly a great prospect. BUT whatever good he turns out to be, IMO he does not deserve to play for England. I know we have had comparisons with Tennis (Rusedski) boxing etc. This is football and in most of the premiership's top clubs the majority of players are foreign and here for more than 5 years. If we applied that residency rule we could have an England team full of foreigners. Are we going down the road of the Eurovision where Malta or Luxembourg employ Celine Dion to represent them in the singing competition? We need to give the chance to players like Townsend, Welbeck, Lambert, Defoe and others who may not be world class but good enough to play for the country. Wilshere's "rule" about being born in this country is too rigid. We wouldn't have Barnes playing for England as he was not born in England but came here as a child. Barnes's suggestion is sensible. The players must have come here for non football reasons, e.g with their family to settle here. E.g Barnes, and Mo farrah who was not born here but was brought up here and attended school in East London. Fantastic to have Januzaj playing for United but, for me, not for England.
Hardly a tap in for ****'s sake;
