Did burley get the job ahead of strachan? I can't remember but my brother says he did. What a **** up that was.
i think they did choose burley over Strachan at the time. But there was no outcry about this. burley was still seen as a great manager as he had half a decent season with hearts (in the media anyway) a couple of seasons before
