Stimac, 46, said he would step down after the game on Tuesday, with Croatia having to settle for a play-off place. But Croatian Football Federation president Davor Suker said: "We received nothing from him in written or verbal form on the flight back or afterwards, hence he was sacked." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24550438 For England this will be an interesting match to provide a benchmark as to where we are currently at:- England set for Germany friendly ahead of 2014 World Cup England are set to host Germany in a Wembley friendly next month as part of their preparations for the World Cup. The Football Association expects Roy Hodgson's team, who beat Poland 2-0 to qualify for next summer's tournament in Brazil, to face the three-time World Cup winners on 19 November http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24556846
