According to reports yesterday that is, i hope its true, he's been one of our best players this season, he's step up to the plate, maybe he felt he was in Scholes shadow all the time but he hardly plays anymore, also he's a great mentor to the likes of Cleverley. I'll be shocked if he's not named in the pfa team of the yar in a couple of months time, he's been the best midfielder in the premier league this season in my opinion, i'm glad he's finally getting the credit he deserves because he's a good player and there's a reason why Fergie picks him for the big games.
He's a great example of why ABUs get so frustrated about United being successful and look for reasons other than football to blame it on ie conspiracies, refs, luck etc. They will be tearing their hair out as long as they consider players like Carrick to be average at best. For such a **** player Fergie has shown a lot of faith in him as the mainstay of our central midfield for the past 7 years!
He's the most successful English centre mid of a generation. Off the top of my head, probably the whole premier league era. Only Lampard comes even close. Gerrard is way behind.
