Ah yes, because a draw with Armenia will do wonders for the confidence...

Won't this seriously affect where they'll be seeded as well? Would you rather be in the same pot as the other big teams? You should be looking to win no matter what opponent or situation.

No, I don't think Italy would have drawn with Armenia had they not already qualified. I think the pressure would have made them lose. Italy are ****.

Italy could have been thrashed 6-0 last night and they'd still be in the top pot.

I'm sure FIFA had already decided to use the last published seedings list for the Finals draw, so last night's results will of course count towards seeding points
but not in time to change the order before the draw on December 6th.

Isn't the top pot still the host country plus the top 7 teams in the FIFA rankings like it was in 2010?

If so we won't know until the updated lists are published tomorrow, but that would be a hell of a jump for Switzerland (currently 14th).

Nope. Italy will still be top seeds depending on results from South America tonight. And Prandellli said pre-match he didnt care if they were seeded or not, it makes no difference.

They've won 4 world cups and made another 4 semis. I reckon they know what they're doing.

Here's the link to FIFA's ranking prognosis page.

If anyone cares to trawl through all the top teams, then it will give a good idea of tomorrow's list.

Eg, England should move from 974 pts to 1074 which should push them back into the top 10
