He missed one really good chance, but if he'd waited to get a better contact it would have been blocked, similar to one Lambert missed recently. The others, he was off balance or stretching for them because of the effort to get into those positions to start with. I'm not saying he's the new Zidane or anything, his first touch isn't perfect, but few players in the world would have done much better, and in no way do these examples outweigh the good work he does, though they are more obvious. For what it's worth, I actually don't think, aside from two dreadful shots, that Welbeck has been that bad this evening. That may however be how bad Sturridge has been making him look good.
