Baines is such a weapon. Can't see Cole putting in balls like that.

I am convinced Rickie would have had a goal by now if he was playing.

I get the feeling that Rooney likes his hi-tech head protector.

Poland were bloody close. Seen them given ok.

Lambert should have started instead of Sturridge.

I know I'm going to get stick for this, but that is so ignorant. I'd rather have him in the team than Sturridge any day. Does a really important job for England and most people wouldn't be getting into the positions he is to get these half-chances that he is missing. Even if he scores one in ten it's still one more than most would get.

Welbeck and Sturridge have been so poor so far. Would get Sir Rickie on for the latter, at least Welbeck's getting in good positions.

Agreed. Sturridge was mediocre against Montenegro and isn't much better tonight.

Nor can I. Cole's defending is not suffiently better than Baines to make him worthy of selection over Baines, who is much mor in the mould of the modern LB.

Exactly right. If you're up against Ronaldo or Messi then Cole is probably the right choice, but Baines almost always offers more overall.

How is it ignorant? His touch has been bad in this game and he has missed a few chances. That and he seems nervous about what to do when he has the ball. I agree about Sturridge as well btw.

Because it ignores the good work that he does that isn't as obvious as the misses. He works tirelessly on the left wing, which isn't his preferred position, and I don't know if you noticed but he set up Townsend's two shots as well. He puts himself about, he is selfless and in spite of his deficiencies he improves the team.

But how poor he has been out weighs the good parts. Even you must see how bad his touches have been or is he a family member? So you can't say anything bad about him. :p

Very poor by Sturridge. No vision at all. Rooney, on the other hand, showed a real bit of class by hitting a ball out to Sturridge.
