SSN says we have bid for three man utd players including , wes brown, darren gibson and there not saying the other name, (johnny evans, danny welbeck)? will be interesting to see who the other player is as tbh wes brown and gibson hardly fill me with exitement
Brown would be OK at RB if we can keep him fit, big if up here mind Gibson I like third anyone but M Owen
Wes Brown- fair enough I suppose? Won't be a huge step up in quality but brings experience and bulks out our options. Hope he can stay fit because that's the reason he hasn't played more for Utd. Gibson- good player, not good enough to play regularly at Utd, hopefully he'll develop with more game time at SAFC into a top player, but could go either way. Can score goals from midfield which is what we need. Third player- PLEASE BE WELBECK! I'm a bit confused as a lot of the names we're linked with (Johnson, Gardner, Evans, Gibson) play centre-back and centre-mid, which I'd say are the only positions we have fair numbers in?! If it's Evans we won't need Johnson in my opinion (Turner, Bramble, Evans, Ferdinand)
much rather have o'shea than brown although 12 million seems and awful lot for a player who played 6 games for man u last season as was not great in those games and 2 defenders in thier 30's
It seems we are taking away youth and adding experience. In the short term it will work but long term no chance. We had the youngest squad in the league or there abouts and it seems we are replacing them with more people who know the league and how to handle it... Hopefully we dont keep replacing youth with experience though cause they are the future and its only through playing that they will gain that experience.
JOHN O'SHEA!? Actually I can't comment as I don't know where it would be for, I don't know what his best position is, I don't even think he knows himself..
I'd have hoped to pay closer to 9-10 for them but it adds a massive amount of depth to the squad if we get the three of them. Remember these lads have been under Fergie for years. People say United are an average team who know how to win. These lads know how to win. I'd be happy with the three of them but I want to see some quality as well as squad players such as these.
Uh, not too excited. Brown is too old, £2m max for him. Gibson is rubbish so would sit on the bench too. O'Shea is ok but will be expensive just because he's from United. Would much rather have Wellbeck over the 3 of them combined at least he's different and better than any current equivalent player. Him, Gyan and Sessegnon would be exciting to see.
Would like Berbatov to be the third, but in agreement with other's that it's likely to be O'shea. The bid being in the region of 12m for three player's, can't see Man U excepting that. We will be told to come back with a better offer.
O'Shea 5m, Gibson 5m, Brown 2m. O'Shea and Brown are both getting old. Can't see Utd having a problem with 12m for all 3. I'm shocked Fergie would let O'Shea go, he seems to be playing in 80% of their games, in different positions...!
it seems some reports are saying welbeck and others o'shea and i certianly know which one i hope it is although for 12mil i doubt that its welbeck as he's worth that much on his own;
