The game, does anyone have it?

Could anyone who knows more about F1 than me tell me why I dont refuel on pitstops if im doing a 50% race? I can have the mix 1 2 3 etc, obv in mix 1 (high) you go quicker but run out of fuel faster but when I stop for tyres it doesnt refuel, even if I need it <confused>

    Can anyone help?

because F1 cars don't refuel anymore. I don't have the game but I guess you have to fuel save now and then and not burn it all away.

I refuse to buy it as bugs ruined the last game for me and some of my friends have bought it and there are still race ruining bugs. Indeed with F1 2012 many people including myself had their Career modes wiped out due to a codies bug. Also looks overpriced to me, apart from the classics mode all the changes are mere season updates, looks more like a glorified patch then an actual new game (if you buy the standard edition).

No refuelling, even for some of the 90's cars.

Apparently, you can now save your race progress, so you can finish races off at a later date, something people have been asking for a while, makes 100% distance races worthwhile now.

But I know what you mean with the bugs in career mode. In the 2011 game I had this weird bug where, after the first pistops, 3 of the top 6 cars would retire from the race, but it was hardly ever Hamilton or Vettel. In the 2012 game, if a race started dry but it started to rain after a few laps and I restarted the race, the track will still be damp, and somehow I could go from about 17th to 1st in about 5 corners.

Bugs aside, I think they improve every year, specifically the driving physics. 2011 had the body roll mechanic and the 2012 game encouraged you to brake and accelerate more smoothly. I dont like how they've removed the post-session interviews from the first game. The responses were basic, but it was a system they could improve on.

At least someone has the license to make the games. i really missed having a F1 game on console between 07-09 (the Wii game doesnt count)

Thanks for all your responses fellas <ok>

This game is good, I feel they have steadily improved since 2010. I have the classic edition. Im doing 50% race as want to get through the season at a steady pace to move up a team. also on 50% you now have to do 3 pit stops where as 12 was only 1 pitstop so the 3 pits is better now

Apparently in this game we will also more of the safety car as well

Not looked at the classic content in detail yet but looking forward to checking it out, it did have Murray Walkers voice in the set up garage for it though <ok>

The thing that hit me first was the different sound of the car, sounds much more beefier now an angry like grumbling if you know what I mean!

the only thing im not that keen on is the animation for the pit stops, not as good as 12 I would say

You had to save fuel in the previous games as well

But Is that right then? F1 cars in real life dont re fuel anymore? I thought I saw them stick the hose thing on in pitstops?

That would have been the case in 2009 and before but since 2010 there has been no refuelling whatsoever in the races, they all start with a 'full' tank of fuel.

Cheers for the mini review DR, I might get it if the bugs that have been present in previous games have been ironed out, but I think to make it value for money you have to get the Classic edition as at least there is new content there.

Have they added anything to the career mode? It would be cool if they could implement a career mode that was as in depth as FIFA's career mode down the years.

Nothing new to the career mode bar the save thing (but I havent used that yet). I havent noticed any bugs yet but havent played it loads, only on 3 rd race of season!

Bit disappointing that they use the same animations after a race as in 12. Its worth getting though I would say, graphics, sound and feel of it are really good. Tyre wear is very realistic!

Thanks for all your replies <ok>

Couple of annoying things ive discovered, I caused a serious collision and then I did the flashback thing (to just before the crash) so I didnt cause the collision, cheating I know

Anyhow, it still said I had a drive thru but I didnt do it and finished the race. So basically it came up saying I had one but I didnt

Also the name of the original driver is still on the car when you see it and not your own, thought they would've ironed that out.......
