You think so? Nothing between the top 4 or 5 this year. I guess the loan deal precludes any move in January, but Arsenal could win it with Remy in their side.
I don't want him to end up at Newcastle. He's too good for them. Needs to be playing in the CL if you ask me.
Keeps his current form up he will be, unless he's inside. It's entirely in his hands (and those of Justice). His agent done good.
Think about the context. I've already alluded to this in my previous post. He joined us turning down the far more secure Newcastle, when we were bottom of the league having won 2 out of 22 games. He had proven ability at International and European football. The release clause so he could get out if things didn't work out was obviously actually fair and sensible. And £8m is that low? Twice as much as Austin cost. Too tae the example further. Austin joined from Burnley after failing a medical at Hull. So when you think about it, Remy's ability is undoubted, his performances have been excellent and his attitude has no issue. As for the quote you picked up on. Is that supposed to be your justification for not wanting to take back one of the premier leagues best strikers? If so i'm a long way from convinced. Wish I could be as optimistic as you and believe that we take that £8m and go off and buy another striker who's already good enough to get in Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs first team. Got to be loads of those around
Agree, this bloke is a top top striker & in reality I cant see us hanging on to him even if we do go up. Wait for Wenger, Moyes and Mourinhio to get the check books out and he'll be gone. Such a shame as i have seen a striker that good play for QPr for many many years. He is quite simply to good for us & no doubt wil most prob be playing CL next year. I say good luck to him & he did try for us. Lets hang on for 15 mill eh?. Lets ee how good TF and Co are at getting a decnt price for him. A sure star of the future.
He's a single minded machine, just wants to score goals and earn money. I don't think 'loyalty' means anything to him, but I don't hold that against him. That goal against Wigan will live with me for a very long time.
Throughout our last 2 seasons, we have been desperate for a 20 goal a season striker. Now we have one and remarkably, some don't want him because he's not the "right sort." Some of the best players in the world right now don't exactly have the best attitude. Ronaldo doesn't have the greatest attitude. Ibrahimovic seems to have threatened to break anyone's legs. Rooney can be an angry thug on the pitch. See my point?
He certainly won't be back. If we do go up then spending is going to be difficult. Loaning Remy out was a good bit of business. It got all (or part) off the wage bill and ensures that we get £8m in the plus column of the accounts next year, rather than this year.
