There's summat weird about the police comments last night. There is no new evidence but they kept claiming it was sensational and blows things wide open. It was a sighting that the Portuguese police took a statement about in 2007. They never said that 9.15pm was the only sighting they would consider. The British police have suggested they discounted the 10pm sighting but they didn't.
It's weird mate, the British police's 'new star witness' said that he was up to 80% sure the man he saw was Gerry McCann. He said the man was around 40, average height & build, short brown hair and looked & walked like Gerry McCann. The police now release an e-fit that looks ridiculously like Gerry McCann. If I was him I'd be starting to wonder what the police were really up to...............
2+2 equal 5. Maybe, maybe not, they maybe innocent. But still many a question to be answered which ever way..... (for the record, i think she's dead)
Sorry to butt in to your discussion, but this case has upset me more than any other and I feel I have to comment. If all that you have quoted above is correct, then there are some very key questions: 1) Why was the body moved around so much? Are you saying she was put behind the sofa, then they decided no we better put her in the wardrobe, then they thought actually we'll just leave her out on the veranda, then they thought no we'll bury her in the flower bed. I saw someone suggest that she had been dragged across the veranda hence why traces were found on the veranda...this simply is not plausible, she was a 3 or 4 year old girl and would have been carried. 2) Where was the body originally hidden? If the traces of blood were found in the car, that was hired 1 MONTH (!) after her disappearance, then the body must have been hidden nearby for a full month before hand. The McCann's would not have risked that. 3) Where is the body now? 4) If indeed these 100% accurate sniffer dogs had identified all of this, the McCann's would have been further investigated and probably arrested. The fact that the case against them was pretty quickly dropped suggests that this damning evidence may not be so reliable. Sorry, but all the "evidence" that I've seen quoted in this thread has come from tabloids and newspapers, and may well be completely and utterly false. I just can't bring myself to believe the parents would do this to their child, even though I am disgusted by their negligence. It's just a horrific case.
if either of them are eventually found out to be the suspect(s) (personally I don't think they are guilty)... so then it goes to trial- I would reckon it'll be nigh on impossible for them getting an unbiased jury judging by comments posted on various forums, news- article comments, blogs etc relating to their supposed guilt as of today. my opinion is with the way forensic psychology is applied nowadays with modern crime -if they were guilty they would 100% have been found out by now (unless this latest MCcann crimewatch episode and news stories etc is a convoluted charade to flush them out ....a most unlikely scenario methinks ) just my opinion
To be fair, and I try so hard to be fair, there's more incriminating evidence against the McCanns than any other person on the planet. And yes, I can back that up.
Very valid questions and welcome to the forum, its the cadanva (sp) smell that the dogs picked up on which from what i can gather could have been transfered by the soles of shoes or skin or fabric, now dont get me wrong i hope to god one day she is found safe but is it not plausible that she was found dead after a seizure, panic set in after 90 mins to 2 hours of discovery, physical contact was made, went to the cupboard to get a blanket, slumped against the wall in tears behind the sofa, walked accross the veranda through the flower bed to the car. Now i'm no detective but surely that could have been the case
I'm sure the forensic profilers would have considered all the 'incriminating evidence' and quite probably a lot more than even you or I know or even considered ...so for all the (at this moment of time hypothetical) incriminating evidence why haven't they been charged?
Why? In comparisson to the rest of the world, as horrific this case may be, it's not to be discarded that a rich couple from the uk could have done this. It's more of a case that the said rich family, may have ****ed up, due to the media hype, and money involved.... Now that be another scenario..... I'll write a book.
If you can look at things from the Portuguese side I think you'd see things a little differently. To take a case to trial against the McCanns would be very expensive, take up huge resources and concentrate the world's media on the country. What would be the benefit to Portugal if the case was proven or not? Would the verdict be accepted by the British public/media/government if the McCanns were found guilty? How much would it cost to keep the parents in jail for twenty years? IMO, much better to **** the whole case off to the British police to make fools of themselves as they're doing now.
Suppose that's plausible. Where she was in the month between her disappearance and them hiring the car out is still a big problem for me though. The truth is, every single possible solution seems almost impossible to be true, whether that be the parents managing to cover up an accidental death, someone smuggling her out of a holiday resort and out of the country under the media spotlight etc etc. It is a one in a million case.
I just can't get my head round it that's all. There's no doubt the parents have lied and changed their stories since the beginning...I would suggest they were so distraught at how negligent they had been that they initially tried to cover this up by saying the door was locked etc, before realising how foolish this route was...either way the parents have done a horrific thing, if they are innocent I think they have suffered enough for their neglect without anyone needing to mention prison etc
totally agree mate and suppose thats why the whole world and his/her dog has the debate raging today, people want answers, last nights crimewatch makes me feel one step closer
If they are innocent, they have suffered enough for their neglect....... Sorry am i reading this correctly, as i may be going potty, So that's it, they have suffered enough, what of the lass?.................ffs
Following on from this my earlier post and reading all you lots comments, let me give you a scenario. They drug the three tiny bairns so they sleep through, so they can go on the piss. Calpol would probably be enough for the twins. They actually didn't check on them, as there is absolutely no evidence that they did. Little Maddie gets up in a haze probably crying for her mum clasping her favourite toy. Can't find her GUARDIANS anywhere! Stumbles to the window behind the settee and falls banging her head. Passes out and chokes on her own vomit brought on by the nausea of the sleeping pill splashing her favourite toy. Hours later they return find her dead and the transference of the smells found by the dogs commences. The smells could have been transferred by them not by the poor bairns body. Why the hell the finds in the hire car, not hired till after the bairns disappearance isn't being made more of is beyond me. Saying the Portuguese police treated them as suspects as if it was a bad thing. Our own police in cases like this, automatically suspect family members until they can be removed from the investigation. And our police admit to this, to deride the Portuguese for following the same line to me is a bit disingenuous. Plus the actual facts of the case did and do point to the parents. PS. Please someone explain to me why the McCanns phoned Sky News! Can't get my head round this at all, my child is missing, oh I know I'll phone Sky!
The Portuguese police have been portrayed as being incompetent dullards despite doing nothing different to the British police, handing over all of their files and cooperating in every way. The witness the British police are claiming is new was interviewed by the Portuguese 6 years ago. He said the man he saw carrying the child was Gerry McCann.
