Went to both the semi final and final in 1985, but the noise at Wembley for the final was unbelievable, such a shame we lost yet another big match.
Definitely Rotherham mate. FA CUP 98 or 99, I think. The Bury game where he scored 4 either was the game we got promoted or won the league. I remember Phillips putting the ball up his top at the end of that game bouncing about the pitch. Great memories when I look back, what I would give to have them days back.

It was at your place for the 1-4. I had corporate and put money on 1-4 and couldn't believe it when I collected. It was also Shearers last competitive game. 'Twas sad to see him hobble out on crutches.
Not being rude but i'm stating to wonder about your well being. You seem to live on here morning, noon & night and started posting, on the Sunderland board, before most people have even woken up. This is a thread about Sunderland away days so your post is off topic at best and who knows what at worst. Perhaps your post is welcomed by people who find it interesting, I just don't get it ......... are you that desperate for the company of Sunderland supporters?
One of my most vivid memories was Millwall away, at the Old Den, when Wayne Entwistle scored late on for a 1-0 win. It was at the height of 'the troubles' and there was a camera crew filming Millwall outside the ground, this was after the BBC documentary so the Millwall hooligans were acting up for the cameras. As we're exiles, living in Mansfield, we could never get tickets so ended up in the home seats to the right of the Sunderland end. We could see fights, big and small, breaking out all round the ground and when Wayne bundled the goal in it all went off. We were surrounded by absolute scumbags who were looking for, and challenging, little groups of Sunderland. Some of these were middle aged adults, in the seats, but all aggressive arseholes. We weren't sussed but eventually jumped in to help a couple of lads, who turned out to be from Selby, and ended up being arrested!!!!! As it turned out it was a blessing as there were gangs of Millwall waiting outside and that was while the game was still going on. We were driven through them in the back of a Transit mini bus with a load of Peterlee lads who'd left the ground looking for trouble, absolutely crackers they were The police chucked us out miles from the ground and we eventually found our way back to the car around 7pm, there were still Millwall and police everywhere!
