I notice ther is a substantial amount of tickets left for the Sunderland game this Saturday, so it begs the question have we got the support needed to maintain our status in the Premier league. If we can't fill a 20,000 seater stadium for a premiership match then it is a poor indictment of us. We couldn't even sell out for any of our Europa league games when it was buy one ticket get one free. When you consider places like Liverpool who support two football clubs within the city get attendances in excess of 80,000 people. In our first season in the premiership you couldn't get an away ticket for love nor money but now there has been only two matches where jack army points were required, Manchester United and Cardiff, so is the dwindling support due to the financial costs, or a waning of interest. As the financial implications affect every club then it may be that we haven't got the fan base to sustain our competitiveness in the Premiership.

From what I was aware there were 16500 season tickets sold this year. Meaning only 1500 were available to the general public. I can't imagine that come Saturday there will be any left.
In the summer over 30000 people applied for a season ticket, there is no way we will see our support dwindle in premiership games.

Yes there were16500 season tickets sold this season and there are 2000 available for non season ticket holders. If there was such a demand for season tickets why is it that we are putting tickets on general sale, as this allocation should have been snapped up by jack army members. We should be selling out 2000 tickets on the first day of sale if we have such a long waiting list, the fact of the matter is that we are not! WHY?

Jack Army members are also ST holders ?, perhaps people who have tried in the past have accepted they have no chance of a ticket therefore they don't try now

    Rules.

    16500 sold as season tickets.
2000 sold on each match day.
    2000 for away fans.

    We cannot change the rules.

Perhaps Sunderland haven't taken their full allocation

I've just done a very unscientific assessment on how many tickets are available and "substantial amount" left is not how I'd describe whats left , the largest amount , 14 ,are situated in the away section with the odd single seats available in the South stand .Obviously ST can't be counted but I'd be surprised if it's not a full house Saturday , 2 weeks without my fix is unbearable

Problem you have now is that odd seats are available which is fine for someone on their own but lousy for families and group s that want to sit together.

I ddon't think we can sustain long term with out expanding .

The reason there are tickets left is because Sunderland haven't sold their allocation of 2,000. This has happened before when we've played teams who don't have that great an away following. Last season teams like Fulham, Sunderland and QPR only took half the allocation and we sold the other half to our fans

We have to expand the stadium to maximise match day revenue, thus making the club more money. I tend not to bother with home games now, not being a season ticket holder, it's difficult to get tickets when they go on general sale, that's if!! they ever get to general sale.

So the stadium expansion will be vital for us to sustain and progress as a Premier League team.

Don't forget people from abroad coming to Swansea, solely to watch the Sunderland game!

Certainly hope so: FFS has got my ticket, and I'm very likely to run into dilli, since he's not posting here and I plan to go to a pub or 2

The problem is that no one really tries to buy tickets anymore because it is usually sold out. (Myself being one of them) I will say tho that the Europa attendance is a bit disappointing. But most likely because you can watch on the tv in the comfort of your home.

Every club keeps some tickets for general sale. Selling 16,500 is more of a matter of policy rather than a reflection on the ability to sell the season tickets.

did not even get a response when I applied for a season ticket, in fact didn't get a response when I tried anything with the club, maybe they do not need my money?

You can easily get a ticket if you want one. Just go online with your Jack Army membership, get your timing right and you're almost guaranteed to get one.

So "I can never get a ticket" is a poor excuse.

Sorry but I will not buy a jack army membership because I work most weekends and feel it would be a waste of money! So I think that is called a reason not an excuse.

I'm with Swan on this. I won't buy Jack Army membership, I did when it first came out, then realised it was a waste of time unless you went to all the games to rack up the points for you to be eligable to get tickets. My boy plays football on Saturday's and Sunday's so we can only fit in games around his fixture list. Thats why I mainly go to away games as I can get tickets late on etc.
