That will be me. Read it, it's relevant. So we can't hold a record against you, we can't hold the previous game against because of your overall record, which incidentally you're allowed to hold against us? Sounds like spoilt dummy spitting Mags who just can't handle the bragging rights we hold. You are like children anyway. You smash your town up or invade pitches when things don't go your way. Most pathetic breed of football fan that ever walked.
One thing I will say is that the 9-1 thing doesn't bother me. Just as the 1990 play off defeat doesn't bother me as I was only 3 years old. If I can't remember it, then it really doesn't affect me. Not disputing the 9-1 isn't a record etc, it's just not a relevant one for me but I also don't see it as a problem for someone to have as a sig. Your 0-3 at our place, I'll gladly accept that one hurt like hell, just like to 2-1 at your place with the Richardson free kick as I vividly remember both of those games. For the moment Sunderland have the bragging rights as they won the last game and won it convincingly too, they'll continue to have them until we turn them over whether that be in a couple weeks time, the one after or the one after that etc. However in my recent history (which for me is the last 20 years due to my age) Newcastle have generally been the more successful of the two (I use that term loosely as trophies define success and we both have zero in the last 20 years of my life) in both the derby matches and general league positions. If truth be told though it doesn't work like that, if it did then Man City would never have bragging rights of Man Utd, or Everton over Liverpool etc. Unfortunately for us it goes off the last match so until we change that we have to accept it.
Spot on mate but you're clearly not an idiot and you understand this. A lot of toon fans on here and who I know in life are nowt like you. They're in denial about every result against you but force history on us. They come across like a spoilt only child who spit their dummy when their new baby brother comes along gets some attention. They are pathetic you know. As someone who's spoke nowt but sense on this thread, you must be mortified when you see them going on this way. Undignified is an understatement.
I think at times both sets of supporters make me cringe if I'm honest. People constantly searching for that "bite" etc. It's like the word debate doesn't exist, if someone puts a point of view accross then people should propose a counter argument if they disagree and so on. Problem is that the moment said counter argument is posted it's classed as a "bite" and people then immediately go on the defensive and the thread goes to rat ****. I mean the bloke that punched a horse, he was one fan out of 50k that went to that game and we're labelled as "horse beaters" It's crazy. You then have the damage to the city of Newcastle, again in reality it was probably 500 supporters out of the 50k that went, so again you're looking at only 1% of the fan base that attended the game. It's a minority (the idiots nearly are always the minority). I'm not saying I condone either act, just that to me it's not going to bring anything constructive to a match thread about the most important game of both teams seasons. I'm sure you lot have idiots, I've read stories about your fans ripping your own seats out when we've won at your place, or sh*tting on the walls etc. All clubs have idiot supporters, I can almost gaurantee if we win we'll be reminded of the above two incidents, and if you win you'll be reminded of the 5-1 etc by us. People go on the defensive but it only means that they'll still be hurting from the defeat.
To be fair mate, the figure of 500 is way out ....... I was in Newcastle early and there were more Newcastle supporters than that prowling around looking for Sunderland or lining the streets waiting for the convoy. Afterwards, we went to Central Station and there were thousands of Newcastle out for trouble. As for the horse punching tag, that's just life and you have to accept it. Out of all the people setting fires, throwing stones & bottles and trying to attack Sunderland the horse puncher was the pinnacle of your achievements that day. It's inevitable that people, nationwide, will remember Newcastle for that.
Forums will always be the same mate. But reality is where some of your lot (and some of our lot) really come into their own. I've spent most of my life taking it on the chin off newcastle fans, smiling back and keeping it light. When the boot has been on the other foot, I've been threatened in the street just for wearing my sunderland ****. Mate, I'm in darlington and Sunderland fans must be outnumbered by about 5 to 1 and your lot just behave like idiots, no give whatsoever, from complete denial to to physical threats. I the middle of summer with no upcoming match, I'll still get nasty petty **** whilst drinking in the town from newcastle fans. I can't speak for people in Newcastle but I can speak from my own experience and I find most experiences with your fans in my own town as uncomfortable threatening experiences. To the point that I can't drink in my regular hole anymore to watch a sunderland match. I have to go to a quiet out of town pub. I know the trouble in newcastle is from a tiny minority of you fan base however, you have to admit that when it does kick off you have a greater number of trouble makers than any other team. The arrest table proves it. over 100 of your arrest came from that game and the police are still appealing for information as they haven't caught them all? The dozens and dozens of defeats you've inflicted on us over the years and fan behaviour as a result prove on the whole combining all fans that we're much more graceful in defeat. Infact, most teams can say it about Newcastle and their own club. Most of you are sound no doubt, but most football fans in general are sound too.
