A ROAD sweeper who nearly died from a DIY sex change has finally become a woman after getting an NHS op.

Now ex-football fan Kirsty Cass is hoping to become a WAG – and has named Manchester United striker Robin van Persie as her dream date.

Married dad Andy Cass was drunk when he cut off his penis with a craft knife and almost bled to death.

After doctors saved him, he underwent a proper sex-swap operation and took on a new first name.

Once a loyal Manchester United fan, Kirsty said she now fancies the football players she used to idolise.

And the 51-year-old recalled the agony of the night she drunkenly took a knife to herself.

“I feel fantastic. It feels so natural. I ooze confidence”
She said: “The pain was unbelievable. It took a couple of minutes before I quickly sobered up. I grabbed a hankie and tried to stem the bleeding and dialled 999.

“I don’t remember what happened next, just waking up in hospital and realising my penis was still there. Doctors explained they had to reattach it.”

She has since had £12,000 worth of NHS sex swap surgery and said she is now only interested in the hunky players.

Kirsty, from Crawley, West Sussex, added: “I used to go to Old Trafford all the time. Being a football fan was part of trying to be one of the boys.

“But the other day at work I had to ask a colleague what the match result was.

“I am more interested in the good-looking players like Robin Van Persie… He’s a bit of all right.”

She admitted: “I feel fantastic. It feels so natural. I ooze confidence.”
