From my reading of this....Newcastle are trying to push the issue and get him tied down...but he (sensibly) is going to see out his loan. What if Newcastle go down What if we go up What if he is an absolute sensation....and is so prolific that he can go to Real or Barca or Man U...he does not want to be tied to Newcastle He/we will not change the loan deal, I am sure
He's a great player. No doubt about that. But we had loads of great players last year, and we were ****. I'd love someone of his ability in the side, but they also need the attitude and application of a Clint Hill if they want to add to the team. If he wants to play for us - really wants to play for us - then yes. Otherwise, Austin is a better option.

Whether he returns to us or not, another classic cock up by Newcastle. Going public with their wish to sign him in January, he does not commit (I will wager he wants more money than they are prepared to pay and won't want to go anyway if they look like they will be in a relegation battle) - cue their 'fans' flipping their opinion of him yet again into public enemy number one.......that club is truly a cluster.

This player will score at any club... If we sell him then it will go down as the biggest cock up in our recent history. In the daft world of football I think he is worth 20m million plus. Newcastle is a great place to play football but ... it's not London and i mean that in a good way. I love Newcastle and their fans and their ground IMO is one of the best in the world Remy is used to the south of France ... once you have done that then other places maybe apart from London pale into grey I rate the current French team very highly and can see Remy getting the golden boot in Brazil We keep him at all costs IMO and Cesar and Taarabt ... In my book they all get second chances with QPR a stronger force

I'm sorry but Austin isn't as good as Remy imo. Remy has a clinical wonder strike / ability whereas Austin is more of a grafter /goal poacher. There is a place for both at QPR if we go up but lets be clear, that goal Remy scored against Wigan was top drawer. I can't see Austin hitting them like that Qualified to say I'm a big Austin fan. At this level he will score goals and his work rate is exemplary
My point wasnt that Austin is as good a player as Remy - clearly he isn't on the same level (at the moment). However, in attitude, application, effort and desire, he is streets ahead of Remy when it comes to pulling on the hoops and putting in a shift.
Apologies WLW if I read that wrong. I'm not sure on that tbh. I didn't see or hear Remy play up last season and when fit I felt he did put in a shift. I also think it was made clear from the off that if we went down he wanted a release option with the WC next year. Again I see no issue with this as it was known when we signed him (I believe). His job was to score goals. I'd say he did that very well. I harbour no Bosingwa type antipathy towards him
From a financial point of view I can't remember the last player likely to turn in a large profit if sold. At some point shareholders are going to want to see money coming in. The right price and he'll go.
In reality, he'll never pull on the mighty super hoops again... The best we can hope for is that he has a stormer of a season at Newcastle and an even better World Cup, alerting the usuals such as PSG, Real or City. They then have a bidding war and we reap the benifits. My understanding is that there is an 8mil release clause but if there are several clubs involved we can decide on what offer to accept while Remy decides on the personal terms. I hope I'm right, please correct me if I'm wrong...
We don't know the details of his contract and probably never will. A deal will be done without doubt; whether it will be the only deal that could be done or the best one for QPR...... we simply won't know for definite. All we can do is speculate. Harry hasn't said anything particularly positive about Remy, only that he wanted out as soon as we were relegated. Right sort? Hardly.
No you are wrong. £8m release clause, if multiple clubs meet it Remy gets to choose. There will be no bidding war.
