This Huddersfield chairman is talking garbage to suit his own interests. Huddersfield spending for 3-4 years in league 1 could have been viewed by the smaller clubs in that league as 'horrendus'. But because they under achieved and took a couple of extra seasons to get out of the league then they would like this chairman is just frustrated as he blew his wad early and realises they realistically wont go up to the prem. It's therefore in his interest that the playing field is leveled.

As for the parachute payments, Already rightly been pointed out that this is a key part in protecting the premier league product as clubs at the lower end can invest and bring the standard of the league up and then if they do go down help to avoid what happened to Leeds and us when w were releagted 17 odd years ago without a parachute and then into administration.

Also recent history of clubs receiving the payments suggest that it doesnt distort the league and clubs struggle to adjust.

    Bolton- Outside playoffs
    Wolves- Relegated again
    Blackburn- Outside playoffs

    Birmingham- Outside playoffs
    Blackpool- Outside playoffs
    West Ham- Promoted via playoffs

We are a capatalist country, TF and Bhatia are spending very wisely. Nothing crazy and we're looking strong contenders for promotion. If we get promoted then they've spent 'excellently' not 'horrendusly' as we get the extra income that comes with promotion.

We have turfed out 15 odd players from last years squad and are left with a skeleton squad of good players that we are contractually obliged to pay big wages for this league, eg, Green, Barton, Hoilett and AJ. Seems very sensible that we add to that the likes of Austin, Phillips and Simpson if that means we get promoted.

Nice to have clubs jealous of us

    It's all about jealousy.

If we were bottom of the league, would the Huddersfield Chairman have brought up the subject?

Just as a matter of interest, is it Michael Brown or Micheal Brown at Leeds?

I was reading this thread last night & some of the posts were actually quite good.
I thought that Josh fella made a few good points but it was interpreted the wrong way and the thread went south.
Then we had all manner of people visiting & it kind of ruined it.

I still stick to my view..who give a f**k what the Hudeersfield chaiman thinks !
