Given all the doom and gloom around transfers (both of them!), mention of fire sales, MM leaving, new owner theories on the boards right now, how about something a little more positive to discuss?

The new season fixtures are released at 09:00 17th June. I have already booked an hour out at work for a very important meeting!!!! where I look at the first games, where are we on Boxing day, is there a clash with the wedding anniversary, last game, game closest to my birthday, please be an away game miles away on the wife’s Birthday or I am dead again....

Whatever happens in the transfer window we will still have the fixture list, so, who would you like as first game, home or away? Boxing day etc.

What days are special to you in your football calendar

First day, Brighton at home. We could do with cash in the bank from a sold out away end, and three easy points against an overconfident team.

Last day, Brighton away. No point in wasting a potentially decent away trip on a midweek match, or during the winter months.

Will always look for first and last games of the season. The game closest to 19th August (my birthday), Boxing Day/New Years Day games as normally back home in Watford.... then I starting looking at particular teams for potential away games - this season Bristol City, Cardiff, Southampton, Brighton and Reading - Although Brighton is the only ground I haven't been to out of these....

Saying all this, in a few months time, may have to change my name to CardiffKev....

Wouldn't mind playing the Hammers on Boxing Day - nice and close and have never been to Upton Park!
I'd take Brentford in the Cup too even though we've got them in the friendly.

As NNW said about Brighton, but also Blackpool towards the end once we're (hopefully) safe!

I am going to be at Ascot on the 17th June and will be relying on Little Miss W_Y to text me with the key games. For me these are:-

    Saints
    Reading
    West Ham
    Blackpool
    Brummys

    Key Dates:
First couple of weeks in August as I am likely to be on hols
    Boxing Day
    NYD
    Easter Hols
    Last home game

    Cannot wait

As I'm not a season ticket holder - shame on me I know - will it be hard for me to get tickets to the popular game that will be Southampton away? I really don't want to sit with the Saints fans (as nice as they are) would much rather sit with the yellow army...

To be honest, I don't think we often sell out our away allocation so should be fine - just make sure you are on the database!

I'll be over for the first match (unless Sky get hold of it and put it on the Friday night as I'll be in the air then) and the Carling Cup 1st round tie (draw made on Thu 16th). I'll probably be over for Boxing Day and NYD as its this year my ex will be taking our boys to her parents. Then I look at timing vists to my family with home games and where there are nice handy airports for away games - Birmingham, Brighton, Southampton (the last 2 I could do as a day trip), Bristol, London and there's the overnight ferry to Portsmouth. Only problems with that, I have 9 hours between arriving at Portsmouth Harbour and kick-off, assuming 3pm on a Sat and I might have to go to Poole or Weymouth to get the ferry back.

Southampton's ground is huge, i'm sure you'll be able to get a ticket to sit with us, and i'm sure you'll be able to find someone to get you one ;)

i'm going to be away for the first game of the season so i hope and pray that's an away game i wouldn't usually go to...i'll probably miss another couple through the season so i'll be looking for those games too..after that..i don't care, though i'd love Boxing day to be a home game so that i don't upset my usual Boxing Day buddies!
