Wow, 4 days away and i forget just how happy some people are with mediocrity. Maybe you should try a few days in the real world too, it really opens your eyes.

Oh Hans. Maybe you should try have learnt some humility or how to make a reasoned argument on your little hiatus.

2 DMs made sense against a team in such good form, but playing just Flamini with Ramsey & Ozil could also have worked with Ramsey playing more box-to-box. That would have left space out wide for Gnabry as there were no "natural" wingers on.

As far as Giroud, they could have gone for the win & played Bendy alongside him as he was playing well. Again, Gnabry to bring some pace for the last 15/20 may have worked as well.

You really can't help yourself can you?

How about backing the team rather than insulting your fellow fans? <whistle>

It was tongue in cheek. Grow a sense of humour.

I could quote all the bat-**** crazy optimistic crap about us winning the title every single year, and how everything is perfectly fine each season, and how 4th is good enough... but I'd rather not attack one element of the fan-base because I'm bitter about some argument that died down months/years ago.

It's like when TT said "look we're top of the league, I don't look so crazy now, do I?" (or something like that) a few days ago. Just out of the blue bitterness about some dead argument he lost. At the time I didn't want to reply, but the obvious answer would be "even a broken clock is right twice each day".

Then there was all that stuff about Aaron Ramsey. You and TT using his good form to bash other fans over the head with because you want to dig up some argument from months/years ago that you still feel bitter over. Problem is, Ramsey was playing crap then and deserved most of the criticism from this board. It didn't look like he'd ever be the player he is today, and people were right to voice their opinion on that.

Then, there's the entire purpose of this thread.

Anyway, that's just how I see your comment... in the same vein as those other examples. Sure, you've quoted an extreme case. I think winning the title would prove something, but it's no reason to gloss over 8 years of abject ****ness and mistakes. I can sympathise with the opinion that that wasn't worth it, and it certainly isn't a reason for "AKBs" to conflate silly comments with genuine criticism so they can announce they were right all along. We're only in October for ****s sakes.

Do you agree that winning the Title would prove nothing ?

I'm sorry, but there's constructive criticism and then there's just ridiculous nonsense and this is the latter.

Well we both know the effort would be immense; we both know what I'm talking about (you're on this forum more than me so there's no way you couldn't know); we both know I can't be arsed; and we both know you wouldn't take it seriously anyway.

Mate, the effort to find those quotes would be immense because I've not seen one quote that thas said we are going to win the league, let alone any that say we're going to win it every year. Unless you can demontrate otherwise I'd suggest you're clutching at straws. Like I said, there's constructive criticism and then there's simple nonsense.

I asked a straight forward question in this thread, but it seems that the overly defensive stance is coming from a place where some people's opinion has become so entrenched, that they feel threatened by the very question being posited

Arsegun is right, the WKB's use ANYTHING for political reasons, Ramsey's turnaround has been used as a tool to gloat. instead of just acknowledging the fact that he's playing well, it's being used as a chance to rub the noses of the non-believers/realists in the dirt.

The WKB are the metaphorical playground bully. "Say Ramsey is best and has been great all along or i'll steal your milk."

That is astonishingly hypocritical, considering that almost every game we lose, we get an "I told you we are useless..." post on here from someone. The real issue here is that there are some people who can dish it out, but are incapable of admitting that they were wrong.

I will freely admit I thought we would win last year, and that I was wrong about that. It isn't a big deal. I also freely admit that I think we are going to win most years. I enjoy watching my team more, when I think they are going to win. So, I make an extreme effort to believe that they have a chance of winning, and that they will take that chance.

This is a fairly routine post from one group on a forum pointing out that another group was VERY wrong about something, and that group being unable to deal with it.

I'm not going to suggest why, because I don't want to get banned, but everyone can probably work out what I might say.

Except that simply didn't happen. As much as you'd love to play the victim, what actually happened was that when Ramsey started to get better, people said that he was improving only to be shot down by the doomers. Eventually it got to the point where Ramsey was playing so well that even you Kyle had to admit that you'd got it wrong.

Questioning your intelligence, please give me an example.

Far from rubbing your nose in it, I actually took a very light humoured approach by saying that Ramsey had you on his hit list after he scored. A very much tongue in cheek stance that made light of how much you'd slated him. I could have gone to town on you for some of the comments you made about Ramsey, but I chose not to, so your cries of 'bullying' sound a little pathetic to be honest.
