I must admit to being a bit nervous about this game tomorrow. Too many memories of Croatia in 2007 and of course getting skelped by everyone in 1993 so as not to qualify for USA.

Anyway, even if we do qualify we'll be hard pressed to get out of the group and willend up being absolutely hammered 1-0 by someone and the press will make out it's ok as we only lost by a single goal <doh>
 
Is it play offs or oot, if the Nigels get pole-axed tomorrow?
 
Before Montenegro it was doomsday prophecies about Hodgson being out of his depth, then a 4-1 win and suddenly Roy's a top coach who knows how to play expansive football <laugh>

Scotland know we're a joke.

What makes England worth laughing at is the deep-seated belief that eventually they'll "come good" because they won a tainted World Cup on their own doorstep half a century ago.
 
Scotland are, of course ****e. But all this 'England expects' and talk of 'golden generations' is just ****ing nonsense.

I posted a comment some time back listing all the countries who'd won a major trophy since England won the world cup in '66. This included the likes of Denmark, Greece and Czechoslovakia. England are pish. The first time they come up against a half decent team in the World Cup/Euros they get pumped out yet they go into the next competition blindly accepting they have a good chance of winning it despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Of course that just makes it all the more amusing when they get humped and sent home :smiley:

Totally agree. Glorious failure = The only thing we're both good at.

If they brought back the home nations then we would all have a chance of some glory.
