Thanks I'm quite excited about it, as Dan said a book starts at the beginning. Can't wait to see how the story unfolds. Hoping they do a similar chant to the Exeter Chiefs Tomahawk Chop - would be immense!

If you need a hand getting to grips with any of the finer aspects of the sport (be it rules, players etc), I'm sure everyone in here is happy to help. Chiefs have some very exciting players - Jamaal Charles and Justin Houston have been arguably the best players at the position so far this year, then they have the likes of Tamba Hali, Dwayne Bowe and Eric Berry who get a lot of love, as well as less appreciated (but still very very talented) players like Derrick Johnson and Brandon Flowers (yeah, Brandon Flowers). Then there's the QB Alex Smith who always splits opinions (mainly for being not very good, but being adequate and flattering to deceive in a limited system that relies heavily on a talented RB - hello Jamaal Charles), and the most recent #1 pick of some controversy, Eric Fisher. They're certainly a very interesting team.
Don't listen to Dan! Alex Smith is a very ball secure QB's that doesn't throw hail Mary's or blind passes when he's about to get sacked. Low risk and very stable under pressure. Complemented with Jamaal Charles on his side as running back these two can rip apart any defense. And mainly, Smith turns to Avery on third down and long, don't ask me how but Avery seems to have a nose to bring in the first downs when they need them the most. Dan may not agree with me but see for yourself, If you have the chance, watch the Chiefs - Steelers game of two weeks ago. Great game to watch when you're a Chiefs fan!
I refuse to accept positive words on Donnie Avery. We had him last year and despite reasonable numbers, he was absolutely awful. Can't rely on him at all for anything other than speed. From ridiculous drops to drive ending penalties, Avery found a way to make every game just a bit harder for us to win. Yeah,, he was good against the Eagles this year, but even I could be - his other three games have been extremely underwhelming. I also don't like Alex Smith because any average QB can do what he does, but offer more on the side. Safety is good and all, but I want a QB who can win games himself. Smith won't be at fault for losing them which makes him better than the lowest end QBs, but he very rarely deserves credit for winning.
Hugo - one of the most important things to know about the Chiefs, is that safety Eric Berry is scared of the mascot: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-very-real-fear-of-horses-possibly-ponies-too
Watched my first game in 2001, happened to be a Steelers game (back in the days of Kordell Stewart and The Bus), got hooked, and been a fan since. I actually own a terrible towel.
Well after this start of the season, I think everyone who had just a little love for the team jumped ship. But so did everyone in Tampa Bay
