    Happy belated birthday Beth! And thank you for revitalising this thread, given that we have reached the nadir of international break quality and there is nothing else going on here.

    I'll take a guess that these are the Norse names for the months of the year....month of the wolf etc etc.

    Certainly looks to be something seasonal here. Worms breaking up the soil - seeds in April - first milking - hay etc. Could the next one (September) be something to do with fruit picking or harvest or even vines. If not Norse then Roman or Greek ?

    ...if there is a Hunter in there too might be descriptions of the moon. No idea who describes a harvest moon as a harvest moon though......farmers presumably
