    It is actually disgraceful, people said go to JA606 because you'll get sick of the idiots on not606, maybe im starting to see what they are saying. A thread about rape should be a non starter!

    A lot of people need to get off their high horses, I could name any number of bad things who have happened to people I know and I care about, suicide, murder, rape, cancer and disabilities off the top of my head in the last few years alone. I still wouldn't jump on anyone for making a joke about any subject, I wouldn't even get even slightly offended - it's a joke ffs.

    IMO there are some things that are simply NOT funny and simply NOT appropriate for attempting to make 'jokes' about. This is one of them.

    Do you really think that a sports forum where people off all ages come to, want to start reading about rape? its disgusting and would be more suited to pervertsandpaedophiles-r-us.com.

    I dont want to come here and see people laughing about an issue as serious as this. As soon as somebody mentions, Hillsborough,Heysel or Munich this board goes mad, people will get banned, threads closed but when it comes to rape its ok? Good to see a senior member has such great ethics.

    Mick - is it not all about context? To pose the question as the OP did: "Is rape always wrong?" - is absolutely devoid of humour. Full stop.

    I agree that - on occassion - there can be dark, gallows humour about such taboo subjects. Stuff we laugh at knowing we shouldn't. But this thread isnt one of those occassions.

    Some of the responses to the OP have only lowered the tone even further..

    I've never seen GC go mad about any of these issues. People need to get their heads out of the BBC606 mindset. It's called NOT606 for a reason.

    It was set up and established by Mick and others because they were fed up of the petty rules and general all round mopiness of the aforementioned site. No one is forced to read or join in any discussion any more than I am forced to watch South Park which is far more risque than it is on here.

    It depends how serious you take life. I could close this thread because of it's subject line and probably keep you and a few others happy, but then I'd be being untrue to myself, because nothing in here actually offends me.

    But to be fair it's not actually that funny either (apart from maybe Lightfoot declaring that he has never ever considered raping a disabled person) which would be the main reason I would remove something like this - everything is ok as long as it's genuinely funny and not spiteful.

    So aye this is getting much too deep and serious now, I think it's time to nip it in the bud.
