Ot: Off topic threads...?

So do us football fans like or dislike the off topic threads? do they clog up the board? Are they good for a football forum?

So I've made an OT thread about OT threads

I personally like them, especially when there is no footy on....

But what do others think?

We needed this thread though to discuss the possibility of created a discussion thread about a poll for OT threads. Excellent work my man.

 

Meh I just avoid them, a lot of them have been very serious lately and I just leave the discussion to people who are far more educated on the matter(s). Don't have a problem with them being up, just browse over them if you're not interested but sometimes they can outnumber football threads 5-1 which can be a little frustrating.

 

Who? Certainly I am not one of those.



If people don't reply to them they move from the front page so that says it all really.

Still, no point in burying the auld head in the sand.

Thread of the week??

 

This is thread of the week I think, best one yet.

I go all OT when i can't source some erb.

 

The board is active and happy enough so it doesn't bother me.

I'm not a fan of the serious ones and I'm sure there are people who hate the silly threads, if you don't like a thread you can avoid it.

We sometimes have people complaining about the lack of footy threads but there are plenty of them and as mods we are trying to keep the active footy threads a bit more on topic.

There are a few too many OT threads at the moment due to the break, when the footy starts they there will have to be less of them and some may be merged.

 

Maybe we should just have one "conspiracy thread"

Nah in all honesty I don't mind. I enjoy them when the international break is on and don't find they clog up the board too much. When the real games are back on they tend to drop off pretty quickly if people aren't interested in the subject. As long as they are clearly off topic then people are quite capable of ignoring them

Is it possible to derail an off topic thread about off topic threads?

 

I think those who want more footy threads are always welcome to create their own

Nope. That's why this may be simple thread - but it's absolute genius

This is OT about OT - the only derail would be football discussion, but then people that want to discuss football will avoid the thread because it's an OT thread
