The point is though that GP doesn`t have to does he? The number of players brought in (for his style of play, bearing in mind he was possibly going to be the coach even then), means that he can utilise them and leave the old guard out of it. Leave them to the reserves. If they have no part they can`t undermine or have any influence. They are the common denominator in a lot of our problems imo. We can`t get rid, let them see their time out & that`s it. It`s all we can do. It may be harsh and it may be expensive but as far as I can see, that`s the price we are going to pay anyway.
If that was doing to get done, it should have been done under PDC. These players have been taking SAFC for a ride for years! They will continue to do so until they are out the door.
Exactly so. PDC had a chance and blew it by going overboard. What I`m suggesting is that it doesn`t need to be like that. Use the new input, quietly shuffle the old clique out of the way where they have no influence, and let them disappear. Sorted.
I think the board bottled it with the players and took the easy option and wrongly ousted PDC. Whilst these players are here the clique will stay in place. There's no way on this earth that Poyet would play a team with out at least some of these SENIOR players on the pitch as he would be crucified from all quarters if it went tits up. No matter what you and I think mate.
True enough mate but GP can play some of the `seniors` can`t he? He can play the ones who try (Catts, Gards) and leave the non-contributors out. Smaller clique, less influence, let them fade. See what I`m getting at?
