So much agro here today, no need to for the hit sticking, lets be original and have some macca and cheese

    Back to the topic....

I also prefer the Holy Grail to Life of Brian but i would have them both in my top ten comedies.

Have to say i've never watched Mike Basset England manager, might have to go watch it after its got a few decent reviews on here.

Thanks to BCC for possibly making the most pretentious, juvenile and undeliverable threat I’ve read on this forum or any City forum for that matter.

Any chance a Mod can make it a sticky (or whatever the correct term is)?

It's definitely a keeper and funnier than many of the films mentioned on here.

If you read Ken Kesey's 'One Flew Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' you will not finish it thinking 'Oh! that's a funny book'.
It's dark, disturbing and thought provoking - Kesey hated the film as it didn't portray institutionalised life as he witnessed it.

But laughter can be found in many situations - so if certain scenes made viewers laugh then so be it but the underlying theme is one
of sadism, control, physical and mental abuse of those members of society who are disadvantaged (and ultimately even those that aren't).

It portrays the very worst of human beings.

    Fantastic Oscar winning film.

I haven't read the book but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't intended to be funny. However the movie is an adaptation of the book and as Chazz pointed out the cast includes many comedy actors and the movie contains at least as many comedy scenes as dramatic ones.
When it was released people regarded it as a very dark comedy with a serious message which I also believe, but that doesn't mean it's not funny.

I've read the book. Its told through the Chiefs eyes. Ken Kesey hated the film and refused to watch it.
