Dont know if you saw this article from February.Quite interesting, especially that Huw was a youth team goal-keeper for Bristol Rovers and the Swans. So he does know a little bit about football!

Can't see how being a reserve keeper for Bristol City qualifies you to run a premiership football club. Di canio was a fantastic player but is totally out of his depth as a premiership manager. The reason huw Jenkins succeeded was simply that he loved the club and had a good business acumen in spite of his business problems of a few years ago. I myself hoped to turn pro many moons ago but like Huw fell well before getting there and even though I almost made it I wouldn't have a clue on how to run and administer a premier football club.

It is not just about Huw though - he is the figurehead for many people behind the scenes doing all the hard work.

I think the point that's being made isn't that his experience makes him suited to running a Prem football club, it's that he probably knows a little more about the game than most previously gave him credit for.

Huw is the best Chairman in the Premier League bar none. All others could take a leaf out of his book on how to run a football club. Long may he continue at the helm.

There's an article in the Independent (and i - 30p - what a bargain!) about Vincent Tan. It's quite long so I'll include just one paragraph here which is relevant to the thread:

"Like so much in football at present, the answer to this mess lies in Germany, with its 50-plus-one ownership model, under which 50 per cent of the club plus one share must be owned by their members, the supporters, protecting against those who arrive bearing gifts and are not all they seem. There is a beautiful British model, too – the Swansea way – but it entails year after year of work, creating a philosophy, embedding the supporters within it and maintaining it, as managers come and go. But everyone’s in too much of a tearing hurry for all that."

Thanks for that Lydford. Great to see "The Swansea Way" so clearly highlighted.

From a Cardiff supporters point of view, the following makes very ominous reading,

"The problem for Cardiff fans is that their ship has sailed. The depth of dependency on Tan means that he is untouchable".

Showing at a cinema near you(in Cardiff), "The New Untouchables",starring Vincent Tan.

Huw Jenkins is the best figure head we could possibly have , all the members of our board are fantastic and sometimes I feel they don't get the credit they deserve .

He's come a long way has Huw. He's almost unrecognisable these days from the media courting, reactionary, Trust bashing Huw of eight years ago.

    Nice to see.

There is no doubt that Jenkins has grown into the job over the years, and he and the board can be proud of their stewardship of our club, he is indeed one of the best chairman in the Premiership, and our board one of the best too!...................<ok>

Huw Jenkins done good ???? He only ruined the club and nearly if it was not only for the Americans staying he could have sent the club into liquidation and ending up like Bolton and Bury...
