Playing against a desolate wasteland on the edge of Europe with no notable professional teams who couldn't beat Luxembourg in two attempts, Azerbaijan do have a chance. Might watch Croatia v Belgium.
Now confirmed... ENGLAND: Hart; Walker, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines; Gerrard, Lampard; Townsend, Rooney, Welbeck; Sturridge. P.S. Is this thread going to be used for the England game or are we resurrecting the England Qualifiers (Lambert) thread?
Don't see any reason not to use this one. Like the look of that line-up, though Carrick must wonder what he has to do.
Dani has just scored an absolute beauty for Italy. *EDIT* Basically ball over the top into the left channel, he's getting there first got two defenders on him, one covering his inside (Agger I think) and one gaining ground behind him, heading away from goal and on his wrong foot, his first touch with it coming down from about a 40 yard pass he beautifully nutmegs the defender on his inside, slips between the two of them and then second touch slots it into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box.

Nicklas Bendtner has scored again. Denmark 2-1 Italy. 10 minutes left. Denmark have to win to have a fighting chance...
Ukraine have beaten Poland. England have to win tonight, or will be relying on San Marino to beat Ukraine.
FT: Denmark 2-2 Italy Dani Osvaldo scores the opener and plays a significant part in the late equaliser. Denmark are out of qualification. Feels weird watching Italy play and the Italian #10 being a Southampton player. I bet Nicola loves it.
