Bush Jnr was going to avenge Daddies biggest ever regret i.e. not pushing on into Baghdad at the end of the first Gulf War, and at the same time gain some fantastic contracts for US based companies rebuilding the mess that they created, with the added benefit of Texas gold, so it was a self funding revenge mission - everyone's a winner as far as the Yanks were concerned. So he was going to press on with it regardless of who chose to stand with them. I've always been of the opinion that Blair went along with the charade, as he knew that if the US went in unilaterally as opposed to as part of a joint Western force, that mess created could have been catastrophic with the entire region being thrown into turmoil, and the possibility of escalation beyond that, could have been very real. So Blair took the role that his ego would have loved 'World Statesman' the man who would ensure that it didn't become the US vs the middle east, he would take us into a phoney war in order to protect the greater good........always been my theory that. As Blair was no idiot & he knew the WMD threat was a total red herring. As for George, I like him until he starts talking out his hoop about Islam.

You should take more notice of the actual truth mate tbh. As he knew of the first plan hitting BEFORE he went into the classroom, as at that time it was thought to be a light aircraft & merely an accident. After the 2nd plane hit, Andrew Card made the decision to go into the classroom & tell Bush "a 2nd plane has hit the 2nd tower - America is under attack" at which point Bush left. So it wasn't a total surprise to him & plus he's a total dumbass, so a glazed look is standard for him ffs.

We've discussed on other threads the percussion/earthquake effects of collapsing towers on outlaying buildings (it was the principle behind barnes Wallis's Blockbuster and Grand Slam bombs were based upon).

And the call doesn't refute the adamant engineers and architects that 7 was demolished. All these straw man arguments that are easy to refute do not negate the fact that WTC 7 was demolished Donga and it takes weeks to rig a demo. jennings was told get out immediately, before the 2nd hit and at that point there should have been no perceived danger to wtc7 at all. in anything like this you investigate the rubble in the aftermath not ship it off to China immediately.

To be fair Saint (and like you I'm not a fan of Galloway) who are the "right people"? Millions marched against this war and yet months later we were all glued to our tv's watching cluster bombs and cruise missiles being pounded onto what was a mainly innocent population...the "right people" (millions of us) were just ignored. We all knew it would end in a total destabilising of the whole of the middle east, we all knew it would plunge Iraq into civil war, we all knew it was designed to make fortunes for Bush Jnrs cronies. I really don't care who gets Bliar to sweat a bit, could be George Osbourne for all I care (imagine that ). This was an illegal war. By the "right people" I meant the due process of international law (for the war to be "illegal" as you put it, some law must have been broken). Of course, I'm not holding my breath on that, but as has been pointed out Blair will probably be immune to any action anyway, regardless of what Galloway does or says. Progress towards justice and building a civilised world involves dragging ourselves away from the kangaroo court and lynch-mob mentality, no matter how much we're convinced that we're right. Without that, we're no better than those we're condemning.
