Probably read this board OFH, Becomes important now to get a signing in, that will give us an indicator of whether he is going or not! I think he might very well go ,if not to Cardiff then maybe Forest ,once they have binned Billy!
Just seen a thing on our favourite football transfer rumour site that Swansea have "jumped the gun" and QPR and Norwich are now chasing DG. To me he is now a Swansea play but wouldn't it be funny if TS and now DG had blooded BR's nose.
It would indeed Zen , but when its on the official site that he has signed a 4 yr contract with the swans, thats good enough for me!
Let's hope the £20m figure is correct; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...l?fb_ref=LikeButtonTop&fb_source=home_oneline Could be as much as £1.5m coming our way.... so be nice if Malky sees most of it (yeah right), but could be the deal-breaker if Cardiff do come in for him!!
Yeah that extra £1.5 million would be very nice making it a total of £6million (ish with clauses and payouts to Carlisle and Rochdale) coming in. Surely some of that has to go to Malky?!
That 1.5 million is the next bond instament so could set us up for the season without having to trade in January. Just being realistic.....
Unfortunately that will probably be nearer the truth AH... But even if Malky gets just half a million of it, sure he could buy wisely... maybe 3 players... so then a January sale wouldn't hit the team quite so hard!!
I think half a million is about right to allow for transfers maybe a bit less, in the current environment I'm sure we can pick up some decent free transfers, I'd be disappointed if we don't see six inbound to get that LB position sorted and add some depth but they'll all have to be cheap and uncut diamonds/mature assets!!!
The board have to play this very carefully. If Malky sees £5-6m come into the club and he sees none of it to spend onplayers, he will realise he will get fed up of having to keep rebuilding the squad while trying to progress youngsters at a faster rate than he would like! If he gets nothing from all these, then not sure anyone could blame him for looking out for the right move for himself!
Was there not talk a month or so ago about the official offer document for the takeover of the club stating 40% of certain funds would be made available to Malky? I think a lot of posters were quoting this but can't recall the precise details. anyone remember?
It was something like that.... but it is a maximum, not what will/has to be used. If Bas really wants, he can say no to any transfer funds and use it all to pay of the debt quicker!
Before the transfer window and peoples holidays the board would normally sit with the manager and discuss. Surely this will have happened and collectively they will have decided if there are untouchables and if so who, who will be let go with no contract renewals, who will be signed on pro terms from within, who is likely to be sold and the trigger revenues for acceptance and who the targets are and the budget to get these in both in terms of transfer fees and wages. I suspect nothing that is happening at the moment falls outside an already discussed and agreed plan. I'm looking forward to new blood in acompanied by hopefully a bit of light from GT and MM, a statement of intent and solidarity would be nice.
After this afternoons happenings does the "statement of intent and solidarity" sound to be any closer?
