Past and following season following positions only show that they were underachieving when Harry took over, doesnt distract from the position they were in when Harry took over.

But since you ask their finishing positions since the 00/01 season have been 12,9,10,14,9,5,5,11,8,4,5,4,5

The 8th place is the finishing position after Harry took over. Harry made them a consistent top 5 side, before that ok they did finish 5th twice but really they were a mid division side.

The fundamental difference is that we have gone from a side losing almost every game to winning almost every game. This has happened in a short space of time, without spending any big money. OK, PL to Championship, but the point is that winning is not easy wherever you are playing.
HR is also gathering together a squad that will be able to compete in the PL with only a few quality additions (plus Remy, hopefully).
The second fundamental difference is that we now have a happy dressing room as opposed to a dysfunctional one.
    In Harry we trust!

I expect Remy's move to NU will be made permanent. I also woudn't be surprise to see AJ go back to Palace in the January window if we can bring in another striker ourselves. If we do go up then there will have to be further changes to the squad.

I can't see Zamora in the PL again.

Clint Hill is QPR through and through and will always put his body on the line for the cause but he is not getting any younger. Ditto for Derry if he returns.

But hopefully they have learnt the lesson that trying to change the whole team in one go will lead to diaster so expect a more measured transition next time.

The current incarnation of Queens Park Rangers FC would have finished above that of last year; of that I have little doubt.

Why? He hasn't said anything bad about the club. He's just slagged off the lot that weren't trying. And he also said he overestimated his ability in trying to keep us up. That's admitting a share of the blame surely?

Jealous much guys :) is yours a false position?

Spurs sacked Jol when they had been 5th in the Prem 2 seasons running. Ramos turned that side into a mess and Harry just got a good side back to playing how they were. So no he didn't do any magic although he was a good motivator.

Still best place for him is anywhere else but my club (and this is any fan in England other than current employers club.) No-one else wants him thats for sure :)

Congrats on your current position and lets hope you don't get outscored. Lowest goals in the top half and the championship is a very very hard league. Not many teams get out of it first time. You do have a role model to cheer you up though. Low scoring but tight defence promotion from the championship. Reading :)

Last night we saw the difference between a proper player (Andy Townsend) and a one trick pony (Adel Taarabt).

Could anyone see Taarabt putting in a debut performance like that for Morocco? The fool can't even get his game for them half the time.

Its great to see Townsend flourish because he has what it takes.

Great debut from Andros Townsend, Swords (**** commentary from Andy Townsend). But one swallow doesn't make a summer... or a good reason for a marriage proposal.

    Every thread..........every sodding thread!!<doh>
Townsend had some games for us like he played for England..............he also had many games where he disappeared up blind alleys. He has great potential but is far from the finished article.

I think Col and I are making the same point, except I threw in an unnecessary blowjob joke.
