I don't think Moyes is the wrong man but I do think there was better options out there (if that makes any sense). The biggest error DM has made is probably changing all the coaching staff. consistency is key and him removing that is similar to Souness removing the bootroom.
**** being careful, we'll take the piss when we can OK tell us which team has looked unbeatable this season? None? that's right
That's what you think? That if we miss out they panic and don't spend any more money thus practically guaranteeing we don't get there the following year? It would be quite the opposite, or else their investment suddenly looks a whole lot less gilt edged. They can afford to miss out on CL money for one season, not really a problem. Not ideal but not drastic. More than that though and it could become a problem.
Really? You know more than me on your club but I always got the feeling they were scared of letting him down, letting the badge down etc. And you dont think he carried a fear factor? I know he chilled as he got older out but what do you think his reaction wouldve been losing to City and WBA at home? I think he may have bollocked some dont you?
Derby profited though they got that Steele GK coach with excellent reputation. Went there with McClaren
Yeah you dont want to turn into Chelsea but that would take some doing to be so classless and dont think you'll do that So, your opinion........... Do you think Moyes will get the sack or lead you to glory?
Well yes but they also had complete respect otherwise it just would not have worked at all. No one would have signed for us either. This idea he was some sort of ogre is just a myth, no doubt he demanded work and dedication and did not pander to the over paid idiots that most of them are but actual fear? No way, we'd have been ****. How many that have left have stuck the knife in? About zero I would say. Unless they're all still scared of this pensioner with his dodgy hips.
I only dislike Man Utd more than Derby I'm not exactly a Forest fan either, but I would like to see them back in the top flight.
I actually meant what happened when Busby left, Chelsea did not and never do enter my head. The answer is I don't know. he needs to stop obsessing with 4 4 2 or it will probably lead to the sack unfortunately. I think he would get there eventually but he needs to be funded and supported and my head tells me that ultimatley he won't be. If that is the case that bellend Woodward better do a better job of finding a new manager than he does of finding new players.
I know its your club but I disagree I think he carried a fear factor (not an Ogre as you say) but a fear that he wouldnt tolerate ppl not performing and they'd be gone if things wasnt done his way. Winning matches, following instructions, training etc IMO they were afraid of him in a way and IMO that motivated an underwhelming squad (given how well you've done)
If players were truly afraid then they wouldn't stick around and, as Ruff as said, there would have been stories published afterwards too. Fergie did lead with a iron fist but he was respected for it too so he must have done it in the right way at the right times.
So you like Chelsea more than Derby? What dont you like about the super Rams? I'd like both Derby and Forest to get promotion but its a big ask for them both to go up! Last time Derby were there didnt exactly work out well did it Out the two prefer Derby to be promoted
This thread is about seventeen years late RHC. After all, everyone knows that's when our decline really started... please log in to view this image Think that pretty much hits the nail on the head imo. We're around level with City and Chelsea in terms of financial resources and overall squad quality (cue some d-bombs from Sisu et al), so once we get through the transition I think it will be us, Chelsea and City back in the top three with the occasional strong challenge from Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool. But whereas the last 20 years has been a case of Utd and Arsenal, Chelsea or City challenging for the title in most seasons, I think the next few years will be any two of the above. So we've probably lost our guaranteed title challenger status, but will still be there or thereabouts most seasons, albeit with the potential to do what Chelsea did in 11/12 and have a mare for a season or two. I think without SAF at the helm we'll have to settle for challenging for the title roughly every other season and winning it once in three or four as MITO says, rather than winning it roughly every other season as we did under SAF. Could end up being a lot like the late 1980s, albeit with Utd, City and Chelsea replacing Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal. Neither. Think he'll be here for 5-6 years, will win a title or two and a cup or two as well. We should get a decent return from him if he gets the right financial backing and time to build a team, but I doubt he'll lead us to regular glory the same way SAF did.
I you insist on using the word like then I guess so. I couldn't tell you why I dislike Derby so much as I honestly don't know, there is just something about them. There are a few teams that I'd like to be promoted (including Leeds ) but we'd need a forty team league
Im not saying he did it wrong or used it wrongly (fear factor), he was a brilliant manager, obviously, there's proof But to suggest he didnt carry a fear factor imo is a load of **** (with respect)
"Neither. Think he'll be here for 5-6 years, will win a title or two and a cup or two as well. Was the summer transfer mess his fault or others? Ferguson never had problems getting players to join, majority of them And I'll respectfully disagree, he will not be there 5-6 years
