Yep, she has a lovely crystal-clear quality to her voice. I quite like Kiki Dee too, as well as the late, great Kirsty MacColl and Karen Carpenter. Also enjoyed Mama Cass, whom I believe choked to death on Karen Carpenter... Or something.

Didn't Mama Cass actually die because she lost too much weight too quickly?

I think in actual fact she choked to death on a chicken bone in the self same Parisian hotel room as Jim Morrison died in. The losing too much weight too quickly phenomenon was observed post mortem, as it were.

No, Mama Cass Elliott died in London as the almighty Wikipedia reaveals :

Elliot died in a London flat, No. 12 at 9 Curzon Place, Shepherd Market, Mayfair, which was on loan from singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson. Four years later, The Who's drummer Keith Moon died in the same flat at the same age.[

    Quite the coincidence.......

All of this only serves as further proof (if any is needed) that I don't know anything about anything. Or to put it in language that Swords would understand: I know **** all about **** all.

They both died at the same age, but it wasn't 27 - unlike Brian Jones, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain.........

Perhaps someone mentioned this earlier but, in my opinion, Sandy Denny was the best female vocalist of the 60s/70s. Incredible voice.

Great voice, but she was 31 when she died, so not in the 27 club.

    It wasn't - just me.

Meet On The Ledge was my favourite of Sandy's.

Tyrant! Yeah that's a great song. The whole of 'Liege and Leaf' is fantastic.

As for Mama Cass's death, was there only 4 years between hers and Moonie's? I thought Moon died in 1980/81 and Cass in the 60s? Although I'm basing some of that on 'Austin Powers'.

Cass died in 1974 and Moon in 1978.

Barbara Streisand had one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard mate..........Burley Chassie was a big favourite of my dearly departed Mum and yes, I think she had a remarkable voice in her prime.
Doris Day...........not one of the all time greats imo but pretty good.

Anyway.....just what are you insinuating?
