35 million for Carroll and now 20 plus player for Henderson. Another piece of shrewd business for King Kenny
You seem to forget that both of these deals have/will be "cushioned" to a certain degree. Carroll by the sale of Torres and Henderson by the sale of Aqualani. RE: Swarbs - Henderson will play on the right wing, I'm not sure where this will leave us tactically though. I liked our 4-1-3-1-1 formation (Johno, Carra, Skertl, Kelly,Lucas, Meireles, Gerrard, Kuyt, Suarez Carroll) I think the casulty will be Kuyt who will make less starts next season and become an impact player from the bench. Liverpool need depth so players like Henderson will be key in to providing it
He is hardly a flying winger though is he? There are so many other good wingers you could have got instead.
It is clear that Liverpool are trying to build for the future. Yes, the transfer prices they've paid recently are huge but they've signed Shelvey (19), Wilson (19), Suarez (24), Carroll (22) and now Henderson (20) who are all huge prospects and you have to pay a certain price for that potential. I think it will personally pay off, Liverpool can get 10 or more years out of most of these players. I'd much rather the big teams in the Prem signed English talent and played them in the Champions League than signing some cheaper Brazilian or African. It can only be good for our national team.
Henderson actually scored more goal's, had more assist's and created more chance's than Wilshere last season so make of that what you will.
Wilshire though is younger, plays in a deeper position and was one of our better players all year though.
And wilshere has a better overall game. If he was to play more advance I'm sure he will do better than Henderson.
At last someone who can see the bigger picture,i dont care how much he cost, its not my money Fenway sport are absolutly loaded anyway.
1 year younger yes, not much is it. And while he does play in a deeper role he still get's forward a good bit and imo does'nt really contribute that much in term's of final ball and he's supposedly one of the best young player's in England.
BBC reporting that Man Utd and Blackburn have agreed a £16 million price for the transfer of Jones. Fee may or not include Johnny Evans. £16 million for a relatively untested player. Thank goodness KK began to back away a while ago. Could be a good long term player but not at that price. SAF again possibly shopping for bargains. Real funny thing is that some people are claiming the fee is £12 million plus Evans who is valued at £4 million. £4 million for him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonder what we'd get for Ngog?
He hasnt even signed and you are already blowing him, Anderson would have Henderson in his back pocket..
Well the Henderson deal is apparently £13 million cash plus £7 million Ngog. On that basis, the report that we might sell Evans for £8 million to Bolton to replace Gary Cahill seems quite moderate!
Poor justification for wasting that much on Andy Carroll. If I sold my car for 5k, but then spent 3k on a tonka toy, that'd be a good bit of business, right?
