Going mental on our board, Henderson who we wanted dropping last season is now irriplaceable.

A fee of 10 mil last season that we would snap your hands off for is now poor at twice the price.

Ngog who we would have been happy with last week is now rubbish.

    Is it quiet over here?

Couldn't you have slanted this to be more about whether Henderson is worth £20m?

Its a wonder Man United fans aren't on here, slating us for making such a signing, when Jordan Henderson was a player that Ferguson coveted at one stage.

it seems that in todays market

10 mil for a good player
5 m il if he is young
5 mil if he is English
15 mil if he scores goals

Haha, yeah. It's like a car with the added features. Henderson comes with air con and tinted windows. Carroll with that plus heated massage seats.

Because they know SAF messed up big-time by not signing him. They need CMs like this and then they don't commit to paying the money when it comes down to it, seems SAF has lost his taste for buying players which have a bit of risk attached to them.

    To be fair..
The only one of those3 signings that are comparable with Henderson is Anderson.

Veron was regarded as a top player (hence his horrific price)
He wasn't a bad player imo, but like Forlan, just didn't work out.

Hargreaves was an England regular, he was one of the only players whom gave a good account for himself at the Euros
with plenty of experience and games.

Anderson was literally a relatively untested gamble - that thus far hasn't paid off like we'd hoped.

If we wanted Henderson desperately we would be chasing him not Ashley Young.
I personally don't think we need Cms like "this" at all..
We need a proven centre mid.

We seem to be showing good intent this summer.. as are you <ok>

In Liverpool terms, Veron was a Robbie Keane. A good player at a high price who seemed relatively risk free, but just didn't hit it off at his new club.
Hargreaves may well have justified his price had he remained fit. He can't be blamed for his knees.

True. but sometimes SAF let's these gems go under the radar. Remember he almost went and bought Torres, but then decided not to??

    Exactly my point.

They didn't work out , but they were totally different types of signings to "potential future" signings - like Henderson and Anderson

Torres, Until recently <laugh>, seemed to have his head screwed on...And was loyal to Athletico.
He seemed very insitent that Liverpool (partly due to your Spanish base (at the time)) were the main team for him.
From what I've heard and read anyway.

Fergie has let players slip through his grasp though, you're right...

Robben, Ronaldinho, even Essien, Bale and Ramsey to a certain degree.
But hey.. we can't land every player with potential.. neither can anyone.
It's just not how it works.
And MAN should he have forced the issue with Ramsey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, it's the beginning of the summer...
    Who knows what Fergie's plannin?

Yep, they'll be the same people that were intent on slagging this forum off for all the swearing and wumming and calling all the posters idiots. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Won't be going on there again - too much like 606.
