Just watching Premier League review. We are one of only 3 clubs who have conceded 1 goal at home so far. Impressive. We have conceded 7 in total, apparently after 7 in the 2009/10 season we had conceded 19 after 7 matches.
And the 6 we've conceded away could have been a lot worse bearing in mind the opposition in the first 2 games. We are hard to break down make no mistake, even without one of our first choice CB's.
2 of the 6 we conceded were free-kicks after rather controversial dives (Torres and Nasri) and both Newcastle's goals were lucky deflections that fell to Rémy nicely. All in call, we've probably conceded only 2 goals that managed to out-do our defence.
You can't start discounting those type of goals though. Watch pretty much every game these days and an aspect of cheating ends up with a decent chance or a goal. It's part and parcel of todays game
Very true. 25 yards from goal and players are looking for the slightest touch to fall to the floor. Its sad but true, Fat Sam's mantra of most goals come form set pieces. Which annoys me even more thinking about our piss poor corners when we have Davies and Faye willing to get their heads on anything and we cant beat the first man.
OLM, that is a good stat, interesting to see how we progress. The first two games of our second set of seven will be really hard.
I think we could get a couple of points from the next 2 matches(poss more).Just as well I am not a gambler.
