How far can they actually go with the stadium they use? There must be a cap to which league will allow entry
Just had a look at the ground requirements and they need minimum ground capacity of 4,000. There's loads of regulations from parking to refreshments to exits and a whole lot more.
apart from a few games in 2008 and a few this year we've almost never punched above our weight, always below it.
Reading this interview it appears the Chairman is quite happy to be a Conference North side and realistically acknowledges that they wont get any further up with the current facilities, further progress would mean a new ground. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....tory-18491280-detail/story.html#axzz2hBeSqVVi
Interesting to note that Hednesford are top and they were 2nd to Ferriby in the Northern Prem last season.
Someone mentioned that North Ferriby would not be able to be promoted due to their ground not being up to conference standard. So we will have to rely on Grimsby getting relegated if we are to ever see a Humberside derby again.
There would be objections. Residents of North Ferriby won't want a 6000 capacity stadium (or whatever) in the middle of the village. And the allotment holders will probably form a protest group "Celery 'til we Die" or something similar.
He will then say for marketing purposes they will be renamed North Ferriby Medici's as United is too common....
If they had won by 3 clear goals Ferriby would have been top. NFU @ home in the FAC this saturday against Runcorn Linnets. Non-league weekend again folks.
Does that rule still exist too whereby the improvements need to be made by X date rather than the start of the season otherwise promotion wont be allowed? There was a famous case a few years back (cant recall who) in which a team had done all the necessary work to their stadium by July but cos it wasnt done by, say Jan 1st, they werent allowed to go up. It was preposterous. ** There was also the one about Macclesfield not being allowed promotion cos Moss Rose wasnt good enough yet Chester were sharing their stadium and playing in the league at the time. It was ****ing mental. ** Im sure someone will know the facts involved to make this a better story....
