Very interesting read that Kiwi..............thanks. I think we knew or suspected most of that, but it really beggars belief how bad things had become and MH must take a lot of the blame.
Yes, having read all of the mini stories thus far, it certainly makes for interesting reading. Harry comments confirm what many of us ( if not all ) have been thinking over the past 12 months. Without wishing to start another thread on Adel .................. his comments about him ram home the thoughts of many here. Yes he was talented but what a complete tosser as well. Boswanker .................. well, Harry didn't need to confirm as such. Again, In the time Harrys' had and what he has achieved so far, the guy is alright in my books. He wears his heart on his sleeve and says it how it is ............... good luck to him. Like any QPR manger, I've back him from day one, the only difference is that I haven't lost faith in him and that's not not just because we are winning. I've stepped back to look at the big picture and all I can see is blue sky.
Those of us who came on your board and told you exactly what Arry is saying were dismissed as WUM's. In fact as outsiders we could see how things were spinning out of control under Hughes. Now he is at Stoke I do wonder if we are starting to see a re-run of the MH scenario. To say that he is overrated doesn't begin to cover it.
They confirm nothing if you don't believe him ... His AB is for exactly what at the moment? The man is a proven liar but he is managing my football team at the moment and doing a very good job. He gets my full support but that is it It was his job to manage the dressing room Harold relegated QPR ... It was on his watch Keep an open mind IMO
Thanks Kiwi, fascinating read. Love to know if MH came close to a stroke and heart attack, when we were going out of control - I think not. MH (knowing the owners were naive to football) must take the MAJORITY of the blame. I dont usually bear grudges, but will make an exception for MH !!
Triffic read but just what we new was happening, glad Arry's stayed on & sorting it, makes me sick to think what they was earning & didn't give a toss.
Hughes just let them get away with it from day one. They saw that Adel had been treated with kid gloves and was allowed to get away with far too much and suddenly they were all at it. Hughes did nothing. Absolutely nothing. The fact that we had to pay off the tosser makes me really angry. Reward those who do a good job, not those who make a complete mess of it.
You are just sore because I was right. Either you agreed with my assessment of MH and argued against it or you thought he was The Messiah.Either way I would suggest that the idiot isn't me.
Interesting read - and, yes, all that we pretty much knew anyway. Good to know that his son was also telling to stop putting down the players every day. Must have been a tough time to be fair. He had me thinking he wasn't up to it, but in all fairness to him he has dug deep and started to turn the tanker around - so great credit to him. The team is starting to take shape and you have to say its all down to Harry!
Hughes, his advisors, agents and lawyers clearly rang rings around our Tony and his team. From whatever presentation they gave at outset, which persuaded Tony to sign up, to what would appear to have been the one-sided terms of Hughes' contract, which should have had some sort of performance related exit clauses. Of course, this all assumes Hughes was in fact heavily paid off and I am not sure the true terms of his settlement deal are in the public domain. In any event, Hughes and his entourage should be deeply ashamed at what their project achieved for our team. I remain staggered Stoke took him on.
Thank you for that as I have promised to myself not to comment on Harold anymore. I would just refer people to the rather unflattering article on him in the Times yesterday, and draw your attention to one quote from what was posted. "I overestimated my ability to turn it round".
This is playground stuff Cruyff. You can hardly expect everyone to turn round and say, "yes his is crap" right from the word go. Most of us knew things weren't right very quickly, but hoped he would come good and not mess up. This is OUR team and we're very defensive about it when criticized by know-it-all tossers who support other clubs whether they are right or wrong. At 61 I would have thought that you would have grown up, but obviously not. You knew what the reaction would be from the start, played on it and have now decided to come back to remind people just how clever you were/are. Judging by some of your comments on the boards you really must have a sad life if you have to rely on this board to prove yourself.
In the fullness of time who do you think will turn out the better manager - Lambert of Hughton? I know who my money's on.
