he will leave you wanting more but not delivering it.. he like ordering a Chinese, having it delivered but them forgetting the rice & prawn crackers
I think Sunderland will be a good club for Ngog, too much pressure on him at Liverpool, always had to fill Torres boots, and when failed got critisised. He will get a good run of games and be part of a two man attack at Sunderland, under Rafa he played the lone striker role which he is not made for, pair him with Crouch who Sunderland are after and he will bag a few. Good deal for both clubs, Liverpool are likely to get £15m for Aquilani so have not really spent a penny as yet (you wont miss Aqualini as he wasnt with you at all last season), and Ngog will be valued at around £5m after been bought at £1.5 mil. Decent business all round
I say send him on loan for a season in the Championship and see how he does then the club can decide if he's worth keeping. Another year old with more experience and he may be a different player.
Its confirmed its been on SSN,Liverpool have nailed Jordan Henderson with Ngog going in part exchange.Hopefully this leads to a decent cash outlay and not something like £18 million in cash and Ngog constituting a £20 million deal.Hopefully its a maximum of £15 million and Ngog.
You reckon Ngog is worth 2m? That's far too low in my opinion. Liverpool value him at £8m don't forget, so we won't see him at that sort of price, I'd imagine the fee is anywhere from 12-14m + Ngog.
i for one hope we put a first option clause on the n'gog deal , i can see the lad becomming a good premier league striker
Agree with that assesment, I think he is talented we just cannot afford to let him develope in the first team, a team that can finish 12-8 place and be ok with it can afford to play N'Gog and he will get better once he gets a run with the same players every week for the most part. We should have put in a first offer clause. for all the folks that say he is sheite, Henry, and I saw him at Juve was very avergae by al accounts apart from pace but he didnt really know how to use it. Look what happened when he met the right coach and teammates. also frame of mind can mean everything to yur performance, N'Gog knew with Torres here and Kuyt and us lookin for more buying Keane maybe like Babbel felt shut out as I am sure a lot of players do. You set yourself goals and when you don't reach them failure is not pleasant. It imo would be harder to take a chance in such circumstances already feeling you are not going to play next game regardless, some players are not happy with sitting on the bench or in the reserves picking up a cheque and I applaud them for that and not being content to just earn cash.
I think N'Gog could do well for you. I think he needs to have an extended run of games to show his real potential. I think he'll probably never make it above the level of a mid- table team ( no offence intended ) but there's nothing wrong with that. For us, he was always asked to step into Torres' shoes and so was always going to be found wanting in that comparison ( I mean the real Fernando Torres- not that bloke who's killed him and taken his place). Anyway, good luck to him, except against us, obviously.
May do well for Sunderland, but was never going to do well with us due to us wanting to be a top 4+ side.
I think he will do well at Sunderland. An extended run of games could be exactly what he needs to shine.
Frustrated? Not really. No more than I was frustrated at Carra for punting the ball up to Carroll every time he could in the Europa. No more than I got frustrated at Babel for believing his own hype. I give young players more leeway for error. There are plenty of great players who were nothing at 22. There are even more very good players who were nothing at 22. I think if you're not realising your potential by 24, as Lucas has done, then move on.
