We are trying to finalise accommodation details for our meet up. I am aware of 3 UK based R's who are travelling over (Hoops Eternal and his son and my Cousin John Paul). Sooper, I know you expressed an interest in coming over. Please let me know if that is still the case and if it is, your accommodation requirements for the night of 9th November. Nuts is talking to a couple of B&B's in the town and they want to know exact numbers. If any Irish R's are thinking of attending and have not told me that they are staying overnight, please can you do so now. If you would prefer to send me a PM, please do. I said it before and I will say it again, there is an open invitation to everybody to attend. Swords, this is your opportunity to come and meet a few of us. Cheers
Hoops Eternal, I was trying to send you a PM but your inbox is full. Please clear your inbox. Cheers.
Nuts, The Brandon View House looks quite nice www.brandonviewhouse.com. 35 euros per person for the night, bed & breakfast. On the website, I input 4 twins, 1 family room and there appears to be availability. It is close to the town or out in the sticks???
Sorry my Irish brothers. Cannot really make this...the other half may object to a weekend away when I could be ironing and cooking etc..... But have a great time, know you will....always is a party when the Irish Rs are together
Steve Russell from Indy R's has confirmed to me on facebook that 2 Irish R's from Indy R's website will be attending too. Alan from Dublin and Marian. There will be 3 lads there called Alan. Could get complicated after a few pints lol. Our numbers will be decent.
Update from Brandon View House; They have availability for 4 twin rooms, 1 family room and 1 single room. There are the accommodation requirements confirmed so far. A single room is 45 euros pp bed & breakfast.
Fing, it looks like you fell asleep on your keyboard and then woke up to type the title of this thread. My mother has lived in an irish place for well over 15 years and I still dont know how to pronounce it.
Whats the name of the place she's from Flyer? From here on in I think we will just call it Graigue. Graiguenamanagh is way too long. You pronounce it Graig-na-man-ah. By the way, Nuts has being doing a lot of work on the accommodation front and he assures me he will have it all sorted by this weekend. He has been busy with work. He just needs final confirmation of numbers.
I will let you know by this weekend lads. I'm away with work next month and I'll be in Cork with Mrs Tooting the weekend before - so it might be a weekend too far.
OK Tooting. You would be very welcome. I believe a lad and his family from the North are coming also.
Cleared out my inbox. I've booked the Brandon View for me & the boy. Looking forward to that breakfast!
My mums from bagnelstown in carlow so used to spend a lot of time in your neck of the woods chaps. Enjoy the drink up. Coy Irish r'ssss!
The Barnsley programme will have a little article on our meet up. Thanks to Steve Russell from Indy R's for that.
Just checked and it is over a 3 hour drive for me. Unlikely that I will make it. You can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Price I must pay for being in the south west of Ireland (the Dubs are sure to say the arsehole of Ireland!).
Update on our meet-up Due to the high uptake in interest for our upcoming get together, we have had to move the location of our meet-up from rural Graiguenamanagh to urban Kilkenny City. There are several options available for accommodation ranging from top hotels to really good B&Bs. Check 'accommodation in Kilkenny' on google to select your choice. We have selected a really good pub in 'Breathnachs' (www.breathnachs.ie) which has multiple screens and will cordon off an area for us. That evening we will move on to kytelers Inn (www.kytelersinn.ie) which is renowned for its traditional Irish music. Hope the change in location hasn't inconvenienced too many people but with 30 odd people now coming we had no choice.
